호세아 11장

1 이스라엘이 아이였던 그때 나는 그를 사랑하였고 나의 아들을 이집트에서 불러내었노라.

1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

2 그들이 저들을 부를수록 저들은 그들에게서 그만큼 떠나갔도다. 그들은 바알들에게 희생 제물을 바쳤고 새겨진 형상들에게 향을 태웠도다.

2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

3 나는 또한 에프라임의 팔을 잡아 주면서 그들에게 걸음을 떼는 것을 가르쳤도다. 그러나 그들은 내가 그들을 치유하였다는 것을 몰랐도다.

3 I taught Ephraim also to go, taking them by their arms; but they knew not that I healed them.

4 내가 사람의 끈들로, 사랑의 띠들로 그들을 끌어 주었도다. 그리하여 나는 그들에게 마치 그들의 턱에서 멍에를 벗겨 주는 자들 같았으니, 나는 그들에게 음식을 놓아 주었노라.

4 I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

5 ¶ 그는 이집트 지역으로 되돌아가지 못할 것이요, 다만 그 아시리아인이 그의 왕이 되리라. 이는 그들이 되돌아오는 것을 거부한 까닭이라.

5 ¶ He shall not return into the land of Egypt, but the Assyrian shall be his king, because they refused to return.

6 그리고 칼이 그의 도시들 위에 거하고 그의 가지들을 소멸시키며 그들을 집어삼키리니, 그들 자신의 책략들로 인함이라.

6 And the sword shall abide on his cities, and shall consume his branches, and devour them, because of their own counsels.

7 그런데도 나의 백성이 나를 떠나 뒷걸음질치려고 몸을 구부렸도다. 그들이 저들을 지극히 높은 이에게로 불렀어도 도무지 그를 크게 높이는 자가 없도다.

7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.

8 에프라임아, 어떻게 내가 너를 포기하겠느냐? 이스라엘아, 어떻게 내가 너를 넘기겠느냐? 어떻게 내가 너를 아드마같이 만들겠느냐? 어떻게 내가 너를 즈보임같이 세우겠느냐? 내 마음이 내 안에서 돌아섰고, 내 생각의 돌이킴들이 함께 불타오르는도다.

8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

9 내가 나의 분노의 맹렬함을 집행하지 아니하겠으며 내가 에프라임을 멸하려고 다시 돌이키지 아니하겠노라. 이는 내가 하나님이요, 사람이 아니기 때문이라. 나는 너의 한가운데 있는 거룩한 이로다. 그런즉 나는 그 도시 안으로 들어가지 아니하겠노라.

9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

10 그들이 주를 따라 살아가리라. 그가 사자같이 포효하리라. 그가 포효할 그때 그 자녀들은 서쪽에서부터 떨리라.

10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.

11 그들이 이집트에서 나와 새처럼 떨 것이요, 아시리아 지역에서 나와 비둘기처럼 떨리라. 그리하여 내가 그들을 그들의 집들 안에 두겠노라. 주가 말하노라.

11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.

12 에프라임은 거짓말들로, 이스라엘 집은 속임수로 내 주변을 둘러쌌도다. 그러나 유다는 여전히 하나님과 함께 다스리며 성도들과 더불어 신실하도다.

12 Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.
