호세아 8장

1 나팔을 너의 입에 대라. 그가 독수리같이 주의 집을 대적하여 오리라. 이는 그들이 나의 언약을 위반하였고 나의 율법을 거슬러 범법한 까닭이라.

1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth. He shall come as an eagle against the house of the LORD, because they have transgressed my covenant, and trespassed against my law.

2 이스라엘이 나에게 부르짖기를, “나의 하나님이여, 우리는 당신을 아나이다.” 하리라.

2 Israel shall cry unto me, My God, we know thee.

3 이스라엘은 선한 것을 던져 버렸으니, 원수가 그를 추격하리라.

3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

4 그들은 왕들을 세웠으나 나를 통해 세우지 아니하였도다. 그들이 통치자들을 세웠는데 나는 그것을 몰랐도다. 그들이 자신들의 은과 자신들의 금에서 우상들을 자신들에게 만들어 두었으니, 그들이 스스로 끊어지려고 하는도다.

4 They have set up kings, but not by me: they have made princes, and I knew it not: of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.

5 ¶ 오, 사마리아야, 너의 송아지가 너를 버렸도다. 나의 분노가 그들을 대적하여 타오르는도다. 그들이 무고함에 도달하기까지는 그것이 얼마나 오래 걸리겠느냐?

5 ¶ Thy calf, O Samaria, hath cast thee off; mine anger is kindled against them: how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?

6 이는 그것도 이스라엘에서 나왔기 때문이라. 기술자가 그것을 만들었으므로 그것은 하나님이 아니니라. 오히려 사마리아의 송아지는 산산이 부서지리라.

6 For from Israel was it also: the workman made it; therefore it is not God: but the calf of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.

7 이는 그들이 바람을 뿌렸으며 그들이 회오리바람을 거둘 것이기 때문이라. 그것은 줄기가 없으니, 그 싹은 아무 음식을 내지 못하리라. 혹 그것이 낸다고 할지라도 타국인들이 그것을 삼켜 버리리라.

7 For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind: it hath no stalk: the bud shall yield no meal: if so be it yield, the strangers shall swallow it up.

8 이스라엘이 아주 삼켜졌도다. 이제 그들은 이방인들 가운데서 마치 그 안에 아무 기쁨이 없는 그릇같이 되리라.

8 Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure.

9 이는 그들이 아시리아, 곧 자기 홀로 있는 야생 나귀에게로 올라갔기 때문이라. 에프라임은 애인들을 고용하였도다.

9 For they are gone up to Assyria, a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.

10 진정 그들이 민족들 가운데서 고용하고 다녔을지라도 이제 내가 그들을 모으겠노라. 그리하여 그들은 통치자들의 왕이 지운 부담으로 인하여 잠시 슬퍼하리라.

10 Yea, though they have hired among the nations, now will I gather them, and they shall sorrow a little for the burden of the king of princes.

11 에프라임이 죄를 짓고자 많은 제단들을 만들었으므로, 제단들이 그에게 죄를 짓게 하는 것이 되리라.

11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sin, altars shall be unto him to sin.

12 내가 그에게 나의 율법의 위대한 것들을 기록해 주었으나 그들은 이상한 것으로 여겼도다.

12 I have written to him the great things of my law, but they were counted as a strange thing.

13 그들은 나의 제물들의 희생 제물들을 위하여 고기를 희생 제물로 바치고 그것을 먹는도다. 그러나 주는 그것들을 기꺼이 받아들이지 아니하는도다. 이제 그는 그들의 죄악을 기억하겠으니, 그들의 죄들을 벌하리라. 그들은 이집트로 되돌아가리라.

13 They sacrifice flesh for the sacrifices of mine offerings, and eat it; but the LORD accepteth them not; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins: they shall return to Egypt.

14 이는 이스라엘이 그를 만든 이를 잊어버리고 신전들을 짓기 때문이라. 그리하여 유다는 방비가 강화된 도시들을 크게 늘렸으나 내가 그의 도시들에 불을 보내겠으니, 그것이 그곳의 궁전들을 집어삼키리라.

14 For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and buildeth temples; and Judah hath multiplied fenced cities: but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the palaces thereof.
