호세아 12장

1 에프라임이 바람을 먹고 동풍을 뒤따라가는도다. 그가 매일 거짓말들과 황량함을 늘리는도다. 그리하여 그들이 아시리아인들과 언약을 맺고, 기름은 이집트로 옮겨지는도다.

1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.

2 또한 주께서는 유다와 논란을 벌이시니, 야곱에게 그의 길들에 따라 형벌을 내리시리라. 그의 처신들에 따라 그분께서 그에게 보답하시리라.

2 The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.

3 ¶ 그가 태 속에서 자기 형의 발꿈치를 잡았고 그가 자기 힘으로 하나님과 힘겨루기를 하였도다.

3 ¶ He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:

4 진정 그가 천사와 힘겨루기를 하다가 승리하였도다. 그가 울면서 그에게 간구를 드렸도다. 그가 벧엘에서 그를 발견하였고 거기서 그가 우리와 이야기하였도다.

4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;

5 곧, 만군의 주 하나님이시요, 주께서는 그의 기념이시로다.

5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.

6 그러므로 너는 너의 하나님께 돌이키라. 자비와 공의를 지키고 너의 하나님을 지속적으로 기다리라.

6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

7 ¶ 그는 상인이요, 그의 손안에는 속임수의 양팔저울이 있도다. 그는 압제하는 것을 사랑하는도다.

7 ¶ He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.

8 그러나 에프라임은 말하기를, “그럼에도 나는 부유해졌도다. 내가 나를 위하여 재물을 찾아냈도다. 나의 모든 수고들에 있어서 그들은 내 안에 죄였다고 할 만한 아무런 죄악을 발견하지 못하리라.” 하였도다.

8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.

9 그런즉 이집트 지역에서부터 주 너의 하나님인 나는 여전히 너를 장막들 안에서 거하도록 하겠으니, 마치 엄숙한 명절날들과 같으리라.

9 And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.

10 내가 또한 예언자들을 통하여 말하였고, 내가 예언자들의 사역을 통하여 현시들을 크게 늘렸으며 직유들을 사용하였노라.

10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.

11 길르앗에 죄악이 있느냐? 실로 그들은 헛되도다. 그들은 길갈에서 수송아지들로 희생 제물을 바치는도다. 진정 그들의 제단들은 밭들의 고랑들 안에 있는 무더기들 같도다.

11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.

12 그리하여 야곱은 시리아 지방으로 도망쳤고 이스라엘은 한 아내를 얻기 위하여 섬겼으니, 그가 한 아내를 얻기 위하여 양들을 지켰도다.

12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.

13 이후에 주께서 한 예언자를 통하여 이스라엘을 이집트에서 데리고 나오셨으니, 한 예언자를 통하여 그가 보존되었도다.

13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

14 에프라임은 그분께 지극히 신랄하게 분노를 일으켰도다. 그러므로 그분께서 그의 피를 그의 위에 남겨 두실 것이요, 그의 주께서 그의 치욕을 그에게 되돌려 주시리라.

14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.
