누가복음 15장

1 그때 모든 세리들과 죄인들이 그분의 말씀을 듣기 위하여 그분께 가까이 다가갔더라.

1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2 그러자 바리새파 사람들과 서기관들이 불평하며 말하기를, “이 사람은 죄인들을 맞아들여 그들과 함께 먹는도다.” 하였더라.

2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.

3 ¶ 이에 그분께서 그들에게 이 비유로 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.

3 ¶ And he spake this parable unto them, saying,

4 “너희 중에 어떤 사람이 일백 마리의 양을 소유하였는데, 만일 그가 그것들 중 한 마리를 잃어버린다면 아흔아홉 마리를 광야 가운데 남겨 두고 자신이 그것을 찾을 때까지 그 잃어버린 바 된 양을 쫓아가지 않겠느냐?

4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?

5 그리하여 그가 그것을 발견하면 그는 그것을 자신의 양 어깨 위에 올려놓고 크게 기뻐하느니라.

5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

6 그런 다음에 그가 집으로 돌아오면 그는 자신의 친구들과 이웃들을 한데 불러 그들에게 말하기를, ‘나와 함께 크게 기뻐하라. 이는 잃어버린 바 되었던 나의 양을 내가 찾았기 때문이라.’ 하느니라.

6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

7 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 이와 같이 하늘에서는 회개할 필요가 없는 아흔아홉 명의 의인들보다는 회개하는 한 명의 죄인으로 인하여 더한 즐거움이 있으리라.

7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.

8 ¶ 또한 어떤 여자가 은화 열 개를 가지고 있는데 만일 그녀가 한 개를 잃어버린다면 등에 빛을 밝힌 다음 집을 쓸고 그녀가 그것을 발견할 때까지 부지런히 찾지 않겠느냐?

8 ¶ Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?

9 그리하여 그녀가 그것을 발견하면 자신이 그녀의 친구들과 그녀의 이웃들을 한데 불러 말하기를, ‘나와 함께 크게 기뻐하라. 이는 내가 잃어버린 그 은화 한 개를 찾았기 때문이라.’ 하느니라.

9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.

10 내가 너희에게 말하노니, 이와 같이 회개하는 죄인 한 명으로 인하여 하나님의 천사들의 면전에 즐거움이 있느니라.”

10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

11 ¶ 또한 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “어떤 남자 한 명에게 두 아들이 있었느니라.

11 ¶ And he said, A certain man had two sons:

12 그런데 그들 중 작은아들이 자신의 아버지에게 말하기를, ‘아버지, 제게 떨어질 소유물들 중 저의 몫을 제게 주소서.’ 하였더라. 그러자 그는 자신의 살림을 그들에게 나누어 주었느니라.

12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.

13 이후에 여러 날들이 지나지 않아서 작은아들은 전부를 한데 모아 먼 나라로 자신의 여정에 올랐고 거기서 흥청망청한 생활로 자신의 재물을 낭비하였느니라.

13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

14 그러다가 그가 다 탕진하였을 때 그 지역에 굉장한 기근이 생겼고 그가 궁핍해지기 시작하였느니라.

14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.

15 이에 그는 가서 스스로 그 나라의 어떤 시민과 합류하였으니, 그가 그를 자기 들판들로 보내서 돼지를 먹이게 하였느니라.

15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.

16 그리하여 그는 기꺼이 돼지들이 먹던 곡식 껍질로 자신의 배를 채우고자 하였으나 아무도 그에게 주지 아니하였더라.

16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.

17 그리하여 그가 제정신으로 돌아온 후에 그가 이같이 말하였더라. ‘나의 아버지의 고용된 종들 중에는 남을 만큼 충분한 빵을 갖고 있는 자들이 얼마나 많은가! 그런데도 나는 굶주림으로 죽는도다.

17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

18 내가 일어나서 나의 아버지께 가리라. 그리고 그분께 이같이 말하리라. ‘아버지여, 제가 하늘을 대적하여 그리고 당신 앞에서 죄를 지었나이다.

18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,

19 그런즉 저는 더 이상 당신의 아들이라고 불릴 자격이 없나이다. 저를 당신의 고용된 종들 중 하나로 삼으소서.’’

19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.

20 그리하여 그가 일어나서 자기 아버지에게 왔느니라. 그러나 그가 아직 매우 멀리 떨어져 있을 때 그의 아버지가 그를 보고 연민을 가졌으며 달려가 그의 목을 껴안고 그에게 입 맞추었느니라.

20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

21 그러자 그 아들이 그에게 말하기를, ‘아버지여, 제가 하늘을 대적하여 그리고 당신의 목전에서 죄를 지었나이다. 그런즉 저는 더이상 당신의 아들이라고 불릴 자격이 없나이다.’ 하였느니라.

21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.

22 그러나 그 아버지는 자신의 종들에게 이같이 말하였느니라. ‘가장 좋은 예복을 내오고, 그것을 그에게 입히라. 그리고 그의 손에는 반지를 끼우고 그의 두 발에는 신발들을 신기라.

22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:

23 그런 다음에 여기로 살진 송아지를 데려와서 그것을 잡으라. 그런즉 우리가 먹고 즐거워하자.

23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:

24 이는 나의 이 아들이 죽었다가 다시 살아났기 때문이라. 그는 잃어버린 바 되었다가 찾은 바 되었도다.’ 그러자 그들이 즐거워하기 시작하였느니라.

24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

25 이때 그의 큰아들이 들판에 있었는데 그가 와서 집으로 가까이 다가가는 동안 음악과 춤추는 소리를 그가 들었느니라.

25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.

26 그러자 그는 종들 중 한 명을 불러서 이런 것들이 무엇을 뜻하는지 물었느니라.

26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.

27 그러자 그 종이 그에게 말하기를, ‘당신의 형제가 돌아왔나이다. 그리고 당신의 아버지께서 그를 안전하고 별 탈 없이 받아들이셨기에 그가 살진 송아지를 잡았나이다.’ 하였느니라.

27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.

28 그러자 그가 분노하여 들어가려고 하지 아니하였노라. 그러므로 그의 아버지가 밖으로 나와서 그에게 간청하였느니라.

28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.

29 이에 그는 자기 아버지에게 대답하며 이같이 말하였노라. ‘보소서, 이렇듯 여러 해 동안 제가 당신을 섬기며 저는 어느 때에도 당신의 명령을 위반한 적이 없었나이다. 그런데 그럼에도 당신께서는 제가 저의 친구들과 즐거워하도록 제게 새끼 염소 한 마리도 결코 주신 적이 없었나이다.

29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:

30 그러나 창녀들과 함께 당신의 살림을 집어삼킨 당신의 이 아들이 돌아오자, 당신께서는 그를 위해 살진 송아지를 잡으셨나이다.’

30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.

31 그러자 아버지는 그에게 이같이 말하였느니라. ‘아들아, 너는 언제나 나와 함께 있으며 내가 소유한 모든 것이 너의 것이라.

31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.

32 우리가 즐거워하고 반기는 것이 온당했느니라. 이는 너의 이 형제가 죽었다가 다시 살아나며, 잃어버린 바 되었다가 찾은 바 되었기 때문이라.’”

32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
