요한계시록 21장

1 그리고 내가 새 하늘과 새 땅을 보았더라. 이는 처음 하늘과 처음 땅이 사라져 버렸고 바다도 더 이상 있지 아니하였기 때문이라.

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 그런즉 나 요한은 거룩한 도성, 곧 하늘에서 하나님께로부터 새 예루살렘이 내려오는 것을 보았는데, 그녀의 남편을 위하여 단장된 신부같이 예비되었더라.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 그리고 내가 하늘에서 나오는 커다란 목소리를 들었는데 이같이 말하였더라. “보라, 하나님의 성막이 사람들과 함께 있으니, 그분께서 그들과 함께 거하실 것이요, 그들은 그분의 백성이 될 것이요, 하나님께서는 친히 그들과 함께 계시며 그들의 하나님이 되시리라.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

4 그리고 하나님께서 그들의 눈에서 모든 눈물들을 닦아 내시리라. 그리하면 더 이상 사망도 슬픔도 부르짖음도 없을 것이요, 더 이상 아픔도 없을 것이라. 이는 이전 것들이 사라져 버렸기 때문이라.”

4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

5 그리고 그 보좌 위에 앉으신 분께서 말씀하시기를, “보라, 내가 모든 것들을 새롭게 만드노라.” 하셨느니라. 그리고 그분께서 나에게 말씀하시기를, “기록하라. 이는 이 말들이 참되고 신실하기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.

5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

6 그리고 그분께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “다 이루어졌도다. 나는 알파와 오메가요, 시작과 끝이라. 내가 목마른 자에게 생명수의 원천에서 값없이 주겠노라.

6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

7 이기는 자는 모든 것들을 상속받으리라. 그리고 나는 그의 하나님이 되겠으며 그는 나의 아들이 되리라.

7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

8 그러나 두려워하는 자들과 믿지 않는 자들과 가증한 자들과 살인자들과 행음에 빠진 자들과 마법사들과 우상 숭배자들과 모든 거짓말쟁이들은 불과 유황으로 타오르는 호수 속에 자신들의 부분을 받으리라. 이것이 둘째 사망이라.”

8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

9 그리고 마지막 일곱 재앙들로 가득한 일곱 호리병들을 가졌던 일곱 천사들 중 한 명이 나에게 와서 나와 대화하며 말하기를, “이리 오라. 내가 너에게 어린양의 아내인 신부를 보여주겠노라.” 하였더라.

9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

10 그리하여 그가 영 안에서 나를 거대하고 높은 산으로 멀리 이동시켰고, 저 위대한 도성, 곧 거룩한 예루살렘을 나에게 보여 주었는데 하나님께로부터 하늘에서 내려오고 있었으며

10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11 하나님의 영광이 있었더라. 그리고 그녀의 빛은 지극히 보배로운 보석과도 같았으니, 곧 벽옥 같고 수정같이 맑더라.

11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12 그리고 거대하고 높은 성벽이 있었고 열두 대문들이 있었으며 대문들에는 열두 천사들이 있었고 그것들 위에 이름들이 기록되었는데 그것은 이스라엘 자녀들의 열두 지파의 이름들이라.

12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13 동쪽에 대문들이 셋이요, 북쪽에 대문들이 셋이요, 남쪽에 대문들이 셋이요, 서쪽에 대문들이 셋이라.

13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14 그리고 도성의 성벽에는 열두 기초들이 있었고 그것들 안에는 어린양의 열두 사도들의 이름들이 있더라.

14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 그리고 나와 대화한 이는 그 도성과 그것의 대문들과 그것의 성벽을 측량하고자 금 갈대 하나를 가졌더라.

15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16 그리고 그 도성은 정사각형으로 놓여 있어서 그 길이가 너비만큼 길었더라. 그리고 그가 갈대로 도성을 측량하였더니 일만 이천 펄롱⁶이라. 그것의 길이와 너비와 높이가 같았더라.

16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17 그리고 그가 그것의 성벽을 측량하였는데 남자의 치수, 곧 천사의 치수에 따라 일백사십사 큐빗이더라.

17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18 그리하여 그것의 성벽의 건축물이 벽옥으로 되었고 그 도성은 순금이었으며 맑은 유리 같았더라.

18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19 그리고 그 도성의 성벽의 기초들은 온갖 부류의 보석들로 장식되었더라. 첫째 기초는 벽옥이었고, 둘째는 사파이어, 셋째는 옥수, 넷째는 에메랄드,

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20 다섯째는 홍마노, 여섯째는 홍보석, 일곱째는 감람석, 여덟째는 녹주석, 아홉째는 황옥, 열째는 녹옥수, 열한째는 자신스, 열두째는 자수정이라.

20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21 그리고 열두 대문들은 열두 진주들이었으며 모든 대문마다 각각 하나의 진주로 되어 있더라. 그리고 그 도성의 거리는 순금이었으니, 투명한 유리 같았더라.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22 그런데 나는 그 안에서 성전을 전혀 보지 못하였더라. 이는 전능하신 주 하나님과 어린양께서 그곳의 성전이시기 때문이라.

22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23 그리고 그 도성은 그 안을 비추기 위하여 해를 필요로 하지 않았으며 달도 필요로 하지 않았더라. 이는 하나님의 영광이 그곳을 밝혔고 어린양께서 그곳의 빛이시기 때문이라.

23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24 그리고 구원받은 자들의 민족들이 그곳의 빛 가운데 걸어가리라. 그리고 땅의 왕들은 그들의 영광과 존귀를 그곳으로 가져오느니라.

24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25 그리고 그곳의 성문들은 낮에 전혀 닫히지 않을 것이라. 이는 거기에 밤이 없을 것이기 때문이라.

25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26 그리고 그들은 민족들의 영광과 존귀를 그곳으로 가져오리라.

26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27 그리고 더럽히는 어떤 것도 그곳 안으로 절대 들어가지 못할 것이요, 무엇이든지 가증한 것을 이루거나 거짓말을 하나라도 지어내는 것도 그러할 것이요, 오직 어린양의 생명책에 기록된 자들만이 들어가리라.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
