요한계시록 3장

1 다음으로 사르디스에 있는 교회의 천사에게 기록하라. 하나님의 일곱 영들과 일곱 별들을 지닌 이가 이런 것들을 말하노라. 내가 너의 행위들을 아노니, 네가 살아 있다는 이름을 지니고 있으나 너는 죽었느니라.

1 And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

2 깨어 있으라. 그리고 죽기 직전의 남아 있는 것들을 강건하게 하라. 이는 내가 하나님 앞에서 너의 행위들의 완전함을 발견하지 못하였기 때문이라.

2 Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.

3 그러므로 네가 어떻게 받았고 들었는지를 기억하고 굳게 붙들어 회개하라. 그러므로 만일 네가 깨어 있지 않는다면 내가 도둑같이 너에게 오겠노라. 그런즉 너는 내가 너에게 어느 시각에 올지 모를 것이라.

3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.

4 사르디스에서도 그들의 의복들을 더럽히지 않은 소수의 이름들이 네게 있도다. 그런즉 그들은 흰옷을 입고 나와 함께 동행하리라. 이는 그들이 합당하기 때문이라.

4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.

5 이기는 자, 바로 그 자는 흰 의상으로 옷 입게 되리라. 그리고 내가 그의 이름을 생명책에서 지워 없애지 아니하겠으며 오히려 내가 그의 이름을 나의 아버지 앞과 그분의 천사들 앞에서 시인하겠노라.

5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

6 귀 있는 자, 그는 성령께서 교회들에게 말씀하시는 것을 들을지어다.

6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

7 다음으로 필라델피아에 있는 교회의 천사에게 기록하라. 거룩한 이요, 참된 이요, 다윗의 열쇠를 가진 이요, 열면 닫을 사람이 아무도 없고 닫으면 열 사람이 아무도 없는 이가 이런 것들을 말하노라.

7 And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8 내가 너의 행위들을 아노라. 보라, 내가 너의 앞에 열린 문을 두었으니, 아무도 그것을 닫을 수 없노라. 이는 네가 적은 힘을 지녔어도 나의 말을 지켰으며 나의 이름을 부인하지 아니하였기 때문이라.

8 I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.

9 보라, 자신들이 유대인들이라고 말하지만 아니며, 오히려 거짓말하는 자들을 내가 사탄의 회당에 속하게 하겠노라. 보라, 내가 그들로 하여금 너의 두 발 앞에 나와서 경배하게 하겠으며 내가 너를 사랑해 온 것을 알게 하겠노라.

9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

10 이는 네가 나의 인내의 말을 지켰기 때문이니, 나 역시 너를 시험의 시각으로부터 지키겠노라. 그 시각은 땅 위에 거하는 자들을 시험하기 위하여 온 세상에 임하리라.

10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

11 보라, 내가 속히 오리라. 네가 가진 그것을 굳게 붙들어 아무도 너의 왕관을 빼앗지 못하게 하라.

11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

12 나는 이기는 자를 나의 하나님의 성전 안에서 기둥으로 만들겠으니, 그러면 그는 다시는 나가지 아니하리라. 그리고 내가 나의 하나님의 이름과 나의 하나님께로부터 나와서 하늘에서 내려오는, 나의 하나님의 도성, 곧 새 예루살렘의 이름을 그의 위에 기록하겠노라. 그리고 내가 그의 위에 나의 새 이름을 기록하겠노라.

12 Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.

13 귀 있는 자, 그는 성령께서 교회들에게 말씀하시는 것을 들을지어다.

13 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

14 다음으로 라오디케아인들의 교회의 천사에게 기록하라. 아멘이요, 신실하고 진실한 증인이며, 하나님의 창조의 시작이 이런 것들을 말하노라.

14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;

15 내가 너의 행위들을 아노니, 네가 차갑지도 않고 뜨겁지도 않은 것이라. 나는 네가 차갑거나 뜨겁기를 바라노라.

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 그렇다면 네가 그토록 미지근하여 차갑지도 않고 뜨겁지도 않은 까닭에 나는 나의 입에서 너를 토해 내겠노라.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

17 이는 네가 말하기를, ‘나는 부유하고 소유물들로 융성해졌고 부족한 것이 아무것도 없도다.’ 하면서 네가 비참하고 가련하며 가난하고 눈멀며 헐벗은 것을 모르기 때문이라.

17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:

18 내가 너에게 조언하노니, 네가 부유하게 되도록 불속에서 정련된 금을 나에게서 사라. 그리고 네가 옷 입게 되고 너의 벌거벗음의 수치가 나타나지 않도록 흰 의상을 나에게서 사라. 그리고 네가 볼 수 있도록 안약을 너의 두 눈에 바르라.

18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

19 내가 사랑하는 자들마다 내가 꾸짖고 징계하느니라. 그러므로 열심을 내고 회개하라.

19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

20 보라, 내가 문 앞에 서서 두드리노라. 누구든 나의 음성을 듣고 문을 열면 나는 그에게로 들어갈 것이요, 그와 함께 만찬을 먹고 그도 나와 함께 만찬을 먹으리라.

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

21 이기는 자에게는 나의 보좌에 나와 함께 앉는 것을 내가 승인하겠으니, 곧 나 역시 이겨서 내가 나의 아버지와 함께 그분의 보좌에 앉게 된 것과 같으니라.

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

22 귀 있는 자, 그는 성령께서 교회들에게 말씀하시는 것을 들을지어다.”
