출애굽기 20장

1 이어서 하나님께서 이 모든 말씀들을 일러 말씀하셨느니라.

1 And God spake all these words, saying,

2 “나는 너를 이집트 지역에서, 곧 속박의 집에서 데리고 나온 주 너의 하나님이라.

2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 너는 내 앞에 다른 신들을 두지 말지니라.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

4 너는 너에게 어떤 새겨진 형상도 만들지 말지니, 또한 위로 하늘에 있는 것이나 아래로 땅에 있는 것이나 땅 아래 물속에 있는 어떤 것과 같은 모습을 아무것도 만들지 말지니라.

4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

5 너는 그것들에게 자신의 몸을 숙여 절하지 말고 그것들을 섬기지도 말지니라. 이는 나, 주 너의 하나님은 질투하는 한 하나님이요, 아버지들의 죄악을 벌하여 자식들 위에 영향을 끼치게 하고 나를 증오하는 자들의 삼대와 사대까지 이르게 하며

5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6 나를 사랑하고 나의 명령들을 지키는 자들의 수천 대까지 자비를 보여주기 때문이라.

6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

7 너는 주 너의 하나님의 이름을 헛되이 취하지 말지니라. 이는 주가 그의 이름을 헛되이 취하는 자를 무죄하다고 하지 않을 것이기 때문이라.

7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

8 안식일을 기억하여 그날을 거룩하게 지킬지니라.

8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

9 너는 육 일 동안 수고하며 너의 모든 일을 행할지니라.

9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:

10 그러나 일곱째 날은 주 너의 하나님의 안식일이라. 너는 그날에 어떤 일도 하지 말지니, 너도, 너의 아들도, 너의 딸도 일하지 말며, 너의 남종도, 너의 여종도, 너의 가축들도, 너의 성문들 안에 있는 너의 타국인도 일하지 말지니라.

10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:

11 이는 육 일 만에 주가 하늘과 땅과 바다와 그것들 안에 있는 모든 것을 만들었고 일곱째 날에 안식하였기 때문이라. 이러한 이유로 주가 안식일에 복을 주었고, 그날을 거룩하게 하였노라.

11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

12 ¶ 너의 아버지와 너의 어머니를 공경하라. 이는 주 너의 하나님이 너에게 주는 그 지역 위에서 너의 날들이 길어지게 하려 함이라.

12 ¶ Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

13 너는 살인하지 말지니라.

13 Thou shalt not kill.

14 너는 간음하지 말지니라.

14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

15 너는 도둑질하지 말지니라.

15 Thou shalt not steal.

16 너는 네 이웃을 대적하여 거짓 증거하지 말지니라.

16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

17 너는 네 이웃의 집을 탐내지 말지니라. 너는 네 이웃의 아내도, 그의 남종도, 그의 여종도, 그의 소도, 그의 나귀도, 네 이웃의 것은 어떤 것도 탐내지 말지니라.”

17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

18 ¶ 이후에 모든 백성이 천둥들과, 번개들과, 나팔의 굉음과, 연기 나는 산을 목격하였는데 백성이 그것을 목격하였을 때 그들이 이동하여 멀리 떨어져 섰더라.

18 ¶ And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.

19 그리고 그들이 모세에게 말하기를, “당신께서 저희에게 이야기하소서. 그리하면 저희가 듣겠나이다. 그러나 하나님께서 저희에게 이야기하시지 않도록 하여 저희로 하여금 죽지 않게 하소서.” 하였더라.

19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.

20 그러자 모세가 백성에게 말하기를, “두려워하지 말라. 이는 하나님께서 너희를 확인해 보려고 오셨기 때문이니, 너희의 얼굴 앞에 그분을 두려워함이 있게 하려 함이요, 너희로 하여금 죄를 짓지 않게 하려 함이라.” 하였더라.

20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

21 그러자 백성은 멀리 떨어져 섰고 모세는 하나님께서 계신 짙은 흑암으로 가까이 다가갔더라.

21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.

22 ¶ 그러고 나서 주께서 모세에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “너는 이스라엘 자녀들에게 이와 같이 말하라. ‘내가 하늘에서부터 너희와 대화하는 것을 너희가 목격하였도다.

22 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

23 너희는 나를 두고 은으로 된 신들을 만들지 말지니라. 또한 너희는 너희를 위해 금으로 된 신들을 만들지 말지니라.

23 Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

24 ¶ 너는 나에게 흙으로 제단을 만들지니, 그 위에 너의 번제물들과 너의 화평 제물들과 너의 양들과 너의 소들을 희생 제물로 바치라. 내가 나의 이름을 기록하는 모든 장소들 가운데 내가 너에게 임하겠고 내가 너에게 복을 주겠노라.

24 ¶ An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

25 그리고 만일 네가 나에게 돌로 제단을 만들려고 한다면 너는 다듬어진 돌로 그것을 쌓지 말지니라. 이는 네가 너의 연장을 그것 위에 들어 올린다면 네가 그것을 오염시킨 것이기 때문이라.

25 And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.

26 너는 나의 제단에 계단들로 올라오지 말지니, 너의 벌거벗음이 그 위에서 드러나지 않도록 하려 함이라.

26 Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
