사무엘기상 23장

1 그때 그들이 다윗에게 알리며 말하기를, “보소서, 필리스티아인들이 크일라를 대적하여 싸우고 그들이 타작마당들을 강탈하나이다.” 하였더라.

1 Then they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines fight against Keilah, and they rob the threshingfloors.

2 그러므로 다윗이 주께 여쭈며 말씀드리기를, “제가 가서 이 필리스티아인들을 치리이까?” 하였더라. 이에 주께서 다윗에게 말씀하시기를, “가서 필리스티아인들을 치고 크일라를 구원하라.” 하셨느니라.

2 Therefore David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said unto David, Go, and smite the Philistines, and save Keilah.

3 그러자 다윗의 사람들이 그에게 말하기를, “보소서, 우리가 여기 유다 안에 있는 것도 무서운데 하물며 우리가 필리스티아인들의 군대들을 대적하여 크일라에 간다면 그때는 얼마나 더 무섭겠나이까?” 하였더라.

3 And David's men said unto him, Behold, we be afraid here in Judah: how much more then if we come to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

4 그때 다윗이 주께 다시 한번 여쭈었더라. 그러자 주께서 그에게 대답하여 말씀하시기를, “일어나라. 크일라로 내려가라. 이는 내가 필리스티아인들을 너의 손안에 넘길 것이기 때문이라.” 하셨느니라.

4 Then David enquired of the LORD yet again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into thine hand.

5 그렇기에 다윗과 그의 사람들이 크일라로 가서 필리스티아인들과 싸워 그들의 가축들을 가지고 돌아왔으니, 커다란 살육으로 그들을 쳤더라. 이처럼 다윗이 크일라의 거주자들을 구원하였더라.

5 So David and his men went to Keilah, and fought with the Philistines, and brought away their cattle, and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

6 그리고 아히멜렉의 아들 아비아달이 크일라에 있는 다윗에게로 도망쳤을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니, 그가 자기 손에 에봇을 들고 내려왔더라.

6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, that he came down with an ephod in his hand.

7 ¶ 그런즉 다윗이 크일라로 온 것이 사울에게 알려졌더라. 그리하여 사울이 말하기를, “하나님께서 그를 내 손안에 넘기셨도다. 이는 그가 성문들과 빗장들이 있는 마을 안으로 진입함으로써 갇혔기 때문이라.” 하였더라.

7 ¶ And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God hath delivered him into mine hand; for he is shut in, by entering into a town that hath gates and bars.

8 그리고 사울이 전쟁을 하려고 모든 백성을 한데 불러 크일라로 내려가고 다윗과 그의 사람들을 포위하려 하였더라.

8 And Saul called all the people together to war, to go down to Keilah, to besiege David and his men.

9 ¶ 그런데 다윗은 사울이 은밀히 자신을 대적하여 위해를 가하려 한 것을 알았더라. 이에 그가 제사장 아비아달에게 말하기를, “에봇을 여기로 가져오라.” 하였더라.

9 ¶ And David knew that Saul secretly practised mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring hither the ephod.

10 그때 다윗이 이같이 말씀드렸더라. “오, 이스라엘의 주 하나님이여, 사울이 저로 인하여 크일라로 와서 도시를 멸하려고 한다는 것을 당신의 종이 틀림없이 들었나이다.

10 Then said David, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant hath certainly heard that Saul seeketh to come to Keilah, to destroy the city for my sake.

11 크일라 사람들이 그의 손안에 저를 넘겨 버리리이까? 당신의 종이 들은 것대로 사울이 내려오리이까? 오, 이스라엘의 주 하나님이여, 제가 당신께 간청하오니, 당신의 종에게 알려주소서.” 그러자 주께서 말씀하시기를, “그가 내려오리라.” 하셨느니라.

11 Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? will Saul come down, as thy servant hath heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beseech thee, tell thy servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.

12 그때 다윗이 말하기를, “크일라 사람들이 저와 저의 사람들을 사울의 손안에 넘기겠나이까?” 하였더라. 그러자 주께서 말씀하시기를, “그들이 너를 넘겨 버릴 것이라.” 하셨느니라.

12 Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul? And the LORD said, They will deliver thee up.

13 ¶ 그때 다윗과 그의 사람들 약 육백 명이 일어나 크일라에서 떠났으니, 그들이 갈 수 있는 곳이면 어디든지 갔더라. 그러자 다윗이 크일라에서 탈출한 것이 사울에게 알려져 그가 출진하는 것을 관두었더라.

13 ¶ Then David and his men, which were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah, and went whithersoever they could go. And it was told Saul that David was escaped from Keilah; and he forbare to go forth.

14 이후에 다윗이 광야 가운데 있는 강한 요새들 안에 머물며 지프 광야 가운데 있는 산속에 남아 있었더라. 그런즉 사울은 날마다 그를 찾았으나 하나님께서 그의 손안에 그를 넘기지 아니하셨더라.

14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.

15 이후에 다윗은 사울이 자기 생명을 찾으려고 나온 것을 보았더라. 그런즉 다윗은 지프 광야 가운데 있는 삼림 속에 있었더라.

15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life: and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a wood.

16 ¶ 그런데 사울의 아들인 요나단이 일어나 삼림 속에 있는 다윗에게 가서 하나님 안에서 그의 손에 힘을 돋우어 주었더라.

16 ¶ And Jonathan Saul's son arose, and went to David into the wood, and strengthened his hand in God.

17 그러면서 그가 다윗에게 말하기를, “두려워하지 말라. 이는 나의 아버지 사울의 손이 너를 발견하지 못할 것이기 때문이라. 그런즉 네가 이스라엘을 다스리는 왕이 될 것이요, 나는 너의 다음이 될 것이라. 그리고 나의 아버지 사울도 그것을 아시는도다.” 하였더라.

17 And he said unto him, Fear not: for the hand of Saul my father shall not find thee; and thou shalt be king over Israel, and I shall be next unto thee; and that also Saul my father knoweth.

18 그리하여 그들 둘이 주 앞에서 언약을 맺었더라. 그러고 나서 다윗은 삼림 속에 머물렀으나 요나단은 자기 집으로 갔더라.

18 And they two made a covenant before the LORD: and David abode in the wood, and Jonathan went to his house.

19 ¶ 그때 지프족들이 기브아에 있는 사울에게 올라와 이같이 말하였더라. “다윗이 삼림 속에 있는 강한 요새들 안에서 저희 곁에 자기 몸을 숨기고 있지 아니하나이까? 그곳은 여시몬의 남쪽에 있는 하킬라의 언덕 속에 있지 아니하나이까?

19 ¶ Then came up the Ziphites to Saul to Gibeah, saying, Doth not David hide himself with us in strong holds in the wood, in the hill of Hachilah, which is on the south of Jeshimon?

20 그러므로 이제, 오, 왕이여, 내려오시려는 당신의 혼의 모든 갈망을 따라 내려오소서. 그리하면 저희의 몫은 왕의 손안에 그를 넘겨주는 일이 되리이다.”

20 Now therefore, O king, come down according to all the desire of thy soul to come down; and our part shall be to deliver him into the king's hand.

21 그러자 사울이 이같이 말하였더라. “너희가 주께로부터 복을 받기를 바라노라. 이는 너희가 나에게 연민을 가진 까닭이라.

21 And Saul said, Blessed be ye of the LORD; for ye have compassion on me.

22 가라, 내가 너희에게 간구하노니, 더 대비하라. 그리하여 그가 출몰하는 그의 장소와 거기에서 누가 그를 목격하였는지 알아보라. 이는 그가 몹시 간교하게 처신한다는 것이 나에게 알려졌기 때문이라.

22 Go, I pray you, prepare yet, and know and see his place where his haunt is, and who hath seen him there: for it is told me that he dealeth very subtilly.

23 그러므로 살펴보고 그가 자기 몸을 숨기고 있는 모든 잠복 장소들을 알아보고 너희는 나에게 확실한 것을 가지고 다시 오라. 그리하면 내가 너희와 함께 가겠노라. 그런즉 만일 그가 그 지역 가운데 있다면 이러한 일이 있으리니, 내가 유다의 수천 곳들을 모두 통틀어 그를 찾아내겠노라.”

23 See therefore, and take knowledge of all the lurking places where he hideth himself, and come ye again to me with the certainty, and I will go with you: and it shall come to pass, if he be in the land, that I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.

24 이에 그들이 일어나서 사울보다 먼저 지프로 갔더라. 그러나 다윗과 그의 사람들은 여시몬 남쪽 평야에 있는 마온 광야 가운데 있었더라.

24 And they arose, and went to Ziph before Saul: but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain on the south of Jeshimon.

25 사울과 그의 사람들도 그를 찾으러 갔더라. 그러자 그들이 다윗에게 알렸더라. 이러한 이유로 그가 바위 속으로 내려가 마온 광야 가운데 머물렀더라. 그리고 사울이 그것을 들었을 때 그는 마온 광야 가운데 있는 다윗을 추격하였더라.

25 Saul also and his men went to seek him. And they told David: wherefore he came down into a rock, and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued after David in the wilderness of Maon.

26 그런즉 사울이 산의 이편으로 가면 다윗과 그의 사람들은 산의 저편으로 갔더라. 그리고 다윗이 사울에 대한 두려움으로 서둘러 떠났더라. 이는 사울과 그의 사람들이 다윗과 그의 사람들을 잡으려고 그들을 에워쌌기 때문이라.

26 And Saul went on this side of the mountain, and David and his men on that side of the mountain: and David made haste to get away for fear of Saul; for Saul and his men compassed David and his men round about to take them.

27 ¶ 그러나 사울에게 한 전령이 와서 말하기를, “당신은 서둘러 오소서. 이는 필리스티아인들이 영토를 침략하였기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.

27 ¶ But there came a messenger unto Saul, saying, Haste thee, and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

28 이러한 이유로 사울이 다윗을 추격하는 것을 그치고 되돌아가서 필리스티아인들을 대적하러 갔더라. 그러므로 그들이 그 장소를 셀라함마르콧이라 불렀더라.

28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing after David, and went against the Philistines: therefore they called that place Selahammahlekoth.

29 이후에 다윗이 거기를 떠나 올라가 엔게디에 있는 강한 요새들 안에서 지냈더라.

29 And David went up from thence, and dwelt in strong holds at Engedi.
