사무엘기상 28장

1 그러다가 그날들에 이러한 일이 있었으니, 필리스티아인들이 이스라엘과 싸우려고 전쟁을 위하여 그들의 군사들을 함께 모았더라. 이에 아키시가 다윗에게 말하기를, “네가 명백히 알라. 너는 나와 함께 전투에 나가야 하리니, 곧 너와 너의 사람들이라.” 하였더라.

1 And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. And Achish said unto David, Know thou assuredly, that thou shalt go out with me to battle, thou and thy men.

2 그러자 다윗이 아키시에게 말하기를, “당신께서는 당신의 종이 무엇을 할 수 있는지 확실히 아시리이다.” 하였더라. 이에 아키시가 다윗에게 말하기를, “그러므로 내가 너를 영원토록 나의 머리를 지키는 자로 삼겠노라.” 하였더라.

2 And David said to Achish, Surely thou shalt know what thy servant can do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee keeper of mine head for ever.

3 ¶ 이때 사무엘이 죽어서 온 이스라엘이 그를 애도하고 그를 라마흐, 곧 그의 본래 도시에 장사하였더라. 그리고 사울은 부리는 영들을 지닌 자들과 요술사들을 영토에서 쓸어버렸더라.

3 ¶ Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city. And Saul had put away those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.

4 그런즉 필리스티아인들이 자기들끼리 함께 모여 슈넴으로 와서 진을 쳤더라. 이에 사울은 온 이스라엘을 한데 모았으니, 그들이 길보아에서 진을 쳤더라.

4 And the Philistines gathered themselves together, and came and pitched in Shunem: and Saul gathered all Israel together, and they pitched in Gilboa.

5 그리고 사울이 필리스티아인들의 군대를 보았을 때 그가 무서워하니, 그의 마음이 대단히 떨렸더라.

5 And when Saul saw the host of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart greatly trembled.

6 그리하여 사울이 주께 여쭈었을 때 주께서는 그에게 꿈들로도, 우림으로도, 예언자들로도 대답하지 아니하셨더라.

6 And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

7 ¶ 그때 사울이 그의 종들에게 말하기를, “부리는 영을 지닌 여자를 나를 위해 찾으라. 이는 내가 그녀에게 가서 그녀에게 묻고자 함이라.” 하였더라. 그러자 그의 종들이 그에게 말하기를, “보소서, 어떤 부리는 영을 지닌 여자 한 명이 엔돌에 있나이다.” 하였더라.

7 ¶ Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

8 그러자 사울이 스스로 변장하여 다른 의상을 입었으며 그가 자신 곁에 있는 두 남자와 함께 갔으니, 그들이 밤에 그 여자에게 왔더라. 그러면서 그가 말하기를, “내가 너에게 간구하노니, 부리는 영으로 나에게 점을 쳐 주고 내가 너에게 이름을 댈 자를 나를 위하여 위로 데려와 달라.” 하였더라.

8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other raiment, and he went, and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, I pray thee, divine unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring me him up, whom I shall name unto thee.

9 이에 그 여자가 그에게 말하기를, “보라, 너는 사울이 행한 것을 아나니, 곧 그가 부리는 영들을 지닌 자들과 요술사들을 이 지역에서 근절한 것이라. 그렇다면 어찌 너는 나의 생명에 올무를 놓아 나를 죽게 하려느냐?” 하였더라.

9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou knowest what Saul hath done, how he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land: wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?

10 그러자 사울이 그녀에게 주를 두고 맹세하며 말하기를, “주께서 살아 계심을 두고 맹세하노니, 이것으로 인하여 너에게 어떤 처벌도 내려지지 아니하리라.” 하였더라.

10 And Saul sware to her by the LORD, saying, As the LORD liveth, there shall no punishment happen to thee for this thing.

11 그때 그 여자가 말하기를, “내가 너에게 누구를 위로 데려오랴?” 하였더라. 그러자 그가 말하기를, “사무엘을 나에게 위로 데려오라.” 하였더라.

11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up unto thee? And he said, Bring me up Samuel.

12 이윽고 그 여자가 사무엘을 보았을 때 그녀가 큰 목소리로 부르짖었으니, 그 여자가 사울에게 일러 말하기를, “어찌하여 당신께서는 저를 속이셨나이까? 이는 당신께서 사울이시기 때문이니이다.” 하였더라.

12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman spake to Saul, saying, Why hast thou deceived me? for thou art Saul.

13 그러자 왕이 그녀에게 말하기를, “무서워하지 말라. 그런즉 네가 무엇을 보았느냐?” 하였더라. 이에 그 여자가 사울에게 말하기를, “제가 땅에서 올라오는 신들을 보았나이다.” 하였더라.

13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth.

14 그러자 그가 그녀에게 말하기를, “그의 형체가 어떠하냐?” 하였더라. 이에 그녀가 말하기를, “한 노인이 올라오고 있나이다. 그리고 그는 어떤 덧옷으로 덮여 있나이다.” 하였더라. 그러자 사울이 그것이 사무엘임을 알아차리고는 상체를 굽혀서 자기 얼굴을 땅에 대고 몸을 숙여 절하였더라.

14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself.

15 ¶ 이에 사무엘이 사울에게 말하기를, “어찌하여 너는 나를 위로 데려오려고 나를 어지럽혔느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 사울이 대답하기를, “제가 심히 괴롭나이다. 이는 필리스티아인들이 저를 대적하여 전쟁을 벌였는데 하나님께서는 저에게서 떠나셨고 제게 예언자들로도, 꿈들로도 더 이상 대답하지 아니하시기 때문이니이다. 그러므로 제가 해야 할 것을 당신께서 제게 알게 해 주십사 제가 당신을 불렀나이다.” 하였더라.

15 ¶ And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

16 그때 사무엘이 이같이 말하였더라. “그렇다면 너는 주께서 너에게서 떠나시고 너의 원수가 되신 것을 알면서도 어찌 나에게 묻느냐?

16 Then said Samuel, Wherefore then dost thou ask of me, seeing the LORD is departed from thee, and is become thine enemy?

17 그런즉 주께서 나를 통하여 말씀하신 대로 친히 그에게 행하셨도다. 이는 주께서 너의 손에서 왕국을 찢으시어 그것을 너의 이웃에게, 곧 다윗에게 주셨기 때문이니,

17 And the LORD hath done to him, as he spake by me: for the LORD hath rent the kingdom out of thine hand, and given it to thy neighbour, even to David:

18 네가 주의 음성에 순종하지 아니하고 그분의 맹렬한 진노를 아말렉에게 집행하지도 아니한 까닭이라. 그러므로 주께서 이날 너에게 이것을 행하셨도다.

18 Because thou obeyedst not the voice of the LORD, nor executedst his fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore hath the LORD done this thing unto thee this day.

19 이뿐만 아니라 주께서는 너와 함께 이스라엘도 필리스티아인들의 손안에 넘기실 것이라. 그리고 내일 너와 너의 아들들은 나와 함께 있으리라. 주께서는 또한 이스라엘 군대도 필리스티아인들의 손안에 넘기실 것이라.”

19 Moreover the LORD will also deliver Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines: and to morrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: the LORD also shall deliver the host of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.

20 그때 사울이 즉각 땅에 완전히 쓰러졌으니, 사무엘의 말들 때문에 심히 무서워하였더라. 그런즉 그에게 힘이 하나도 없었으니, 이는 그가 그날 온 낮에도 온 밤에도 빵을 전혀 먹지 아니하였기 때문이라.

20 Then Saul fell straightway all along on the earth, and was sore afraid, because of the words of Samuel: and there was no strength in him; for he had eaten no bread all the day, nor all the night.

21 ¶ 그런즉 그 여자가 사울에게 와서 그가 심히 불안해 하는 것을 보고는 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “보소서, 당신의 몸종이 당신의 음성에 순종하였고 제가 저의 생명을 제 손안에 둔 채로 당신께서 제게 이야기하신 당신의 말씀들에 경청하였나이다.

21 ¶ And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was sore troubled, and said unto him, Behold, thine handmaid hath obeyed thy voice, and I have put my life in my hand, and have hearkened unto thy words which thou spakest unto me.

22 그러므로 이제, 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 당신께서도 당신의 몸종의 음성에 경청하시어 제가 약간의 빵을 당신 앞에 차리는 것을 허락하소서. 그리하여 당신께서 친히 당신의 길을 가실 때 힘을 낼 수 있도록 드소서.”

22 Now therefore, I pray thee, hearken thou also unto the voice of thine handmaid, and let me set a morsel of bread before thee; and eat, that thou mayest have strength, when thou goest on thy way.

23 그러나 그가 거부하며 말하기를, “나는 먹지 아니하겠노라.” 하였더라. 그러나 그의 종들이 그 여자와 함께 그에게 강권하였더니, 그가 그들의 음성에 경청하였더라. 그렇게 하여 그가 땅에서 일어나서 침상 위에 앉았더라.

23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants, together with the woman, compelled him; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.

24 그리고 그 여자가 집 안에 살진 송아지를 가지고 있었더라. 그리하여 그녀가 서둘러 그것을 잡고 곡물 가루를 취하여 그것을 반죽한 뒤에 그것으로 누룩이 들어 있지 않은 빵을 구웠더라.

24 And the woman had a fat calf in the house; and she hasted, and killed it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and did bake unleavened bread thereof:

25 그런 다음에 그녀가 그것을 사울 앞과 그의 종들 앞에 가져왔더니, 그들이 먹었더라. 그때 그들이 일어나 그날 밤에 떠나갔더라.

25 And she brought it before Saul, and before his servants; and they did eat. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
