사무엘기상 27장

1 이후에 다윗이 자기 마음속에 말하기를, ‘이제 어느 날 내가 사울의 손에 의하여 목숨을 잃으리라. 내가 신속하게 필리스티아인들의 지역 가운데로 탈출하는 것보다 더 나은 것이 나에게 아무것도 없도다. 그리하면 사울은 이스라엘의 지경 어디에서도 더 이상 나를 찾지 못하여 나에 관하여 단념할 것이라. 그렇게 하여 나는 그의 손에서 탈출하리라.’ 하였더라.

1 And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand.

2 그리하여 다윗이 일어났으니, 그가 자신과 함께 있던 육백 명의 남자들과 함께 마옥의 아들이자 가드의 왕인 아키시에게 넘어갔더라.

2 And David arose, and he passed over with the six hundred men that were with him unto Achish, the son of Maoch, king of Gath.

3 그런즉 다윗이 가드에서 아키시와 함께 거하였고, 그와 그의 사람들과 모든 사람이 각각 자기 집안과 함께 거하였으니, 곧 다윗이 그의 두 아내인 이즈르엘족 여인 아히노암과 칼멜족 여인이자 나발의 아내였던 아비가일과 함께 거하였더라.

3 And David dwelt with Achish at Gath, he and his men, every man with his household, even David with his two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the Carmelitess, Nabal's wife.

4 이후에 다윗이 가드로 도망하게 된 것이 사울에게 알려졌더라. 그러자 그가 더 이상 그를 다시 찾지 아니하였더라.

4 And it was told Saul that David was fled to Gath: and he sought no more again for him.

5 ¶ 그리고 다윗이 아키시에게 말하기를, “만일 내가 지금 당신의 두 눈에서 은혜를 발견하였다면, 그들로 하여금 지방의 몇몇 마을에서 한 장소를 저에게 주게 하시어 제가 거기에 거할 수 있게 하소서. 그런즉 어찌하여 당신의 종이 당신 곁에서 왕의 도시 안에 거해야겠나이까?” 하였더라.

5 ¶ And David said unto Achish, If I have now found grace in thine eyes, let them give me a place in some town in the country, that I may dwell there: for why should thy servant dwell in the royal city with thee?

6 그때 아키시가 그날로 지클락을 그에게 주었더라. 이러한 이유로 지클락은 유다의 왕들에게 귀속되어 오늘날까지 이르니라.

6 Then Achish gave him Ziklag that day: wherefore Ziklag pertaineth unto the kings of Judah unto this day.

7 그런즉 다윗이 필리스티아인들의 지방 가운데 거한 시간이 만으로 일 년 사 개월이었더라.

7 And the time that David dwelt in the country of the Philistines was a full year and four months.

8 ¶ 이후에 다윗과 그의 사람들이 올라가서 그슐족들과 게젤족들과 아말렉족들을 침략하였더라. 이는 예로부터 그 민족들이 그 지역의 거주자들이었기 때문이니, 그 지역은 네가 슈르로 갈 때와 같이 바로 이집트 지역으로 향하는 곳이라.

8 ¶ And David and his men went up, and invaded the Geshurites, and the Gezrites, and the Amalekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.

9 그런즉 다윗이 그 지역을 쳐서 남자도 여자도 살려 두지 아니하였으니, 양들과 소들과 나귀들과 낙타들과 의관을 갈취하여 되돌아가서 아키시에게 이르렀더라.

9 And David smote the land, and left neither man nor woman alive, and took away the sheep, and the oxen, and the asses, and the camels, and the apparel, and returned, and came to Achish.

10 그리하여 아키시가 말하기를, “오늘은 너희가 어디로 도로를 내었느냐?” 하였더라. 그러자 다윗이 말하기를, “유다의 남쪽과 여라므엘족들의 남쪽과 켄족들의 남쪽을 대적하였나이다.” 하였더라.

10 And Achish said, Whither have ye made a road to day? And David said, Against the south of Judah, and against the south of the Jerahmeelites, and against the south of the Kenites.

11 그런즉 다윗이 가드로 소식들이 전해지지 아니하도록 남자도 여자도 살려 두지 아니하였으니 말하기를, “그들이 우리에 관하여 알리며 ‘다윗이 이처럼 행하였나니, 그가 필리스티아인들의 지방 가운데 거하는 내내 그의 방식이 그러하리라.’하고 말할까 우려하노라.” 하였더라.

11 And David saved neither man nor woman alive, to bring tidings to Gath, saying, Lest they should tell on us, saying, So did David, and so will be his manner all the while he dwelleth in the country of the Philistines.

12 그리하여 아키시가 다윗을 믿으며 말하기를, “그가 자기 백성 이스라엘로 하여금 그를 철저히 혐오하게 하였도다. 그러므로 그는 영원토록 나의 종이 되리라.” 하였더라.

12 And Achish believed David, saying, He hath made his people Israel utterly to abhor him; therefore he shall be my servant for ever.
