민수기 24장

1 그리고 발라암이 이스라엘을 축복하는 것이 주를 기쁘게 해 드린 것을 보자 그가 다른 때들과 같이 마력들을 구하러 가지 아니하였으니, 다만 그가 자기 얼굴을 광야를 향하여 고정하였더라.

1 And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.

2 그러고는 발라암이 자기 두 눈을 들어 올렸더니, 그가 이스라엘이 그들의 지파들에 따라 자기 천막들 안에 거하는 것을 목격하였더라. 그러자 하나님의 영이 그의 위에 임하셨더라.

2 And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.

3 이에 그가 그의 비유를 지어 이같이 말하였더라. “브올의 아들 발라암이 말하였으며, 두 눈이 열린 사람이 말하였도다.

3 And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

4 하나님의 말씀들을 들은 자, 곧 전능하신 분의 현시를 본 자, 현시의 몰입에 빠졌으나 자기 두 눈을 뜨고 있는 자가 말하였도다.

4 He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

5 오, 야곱아, 너의 천막들이 얼마나 훌륭한가! 그런즉 오, 이스라엘아, 너의 장막들이 얼마나 훌륭한가!

5 How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!

6 그들이 골짜기들같이 밖으로 퍼져나가니, 강가에 있는 동산들 같고, 주께서 심으신 알로에 나무들과 같으며, 물기슭들에 있는 백향목들 같도다.

6 As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.

7 그가 그의 양동이들에서 물을 쏟을 것이요, 그의 씨가 많은 물들 속에 있으리라. 그리고 그의 왕이 아각보다 높아지리니, 그의 왕국이 크게 높여지리라.

7 He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.

8 하나님께서 그를 이집트에서 데리고 나오셨도다. 그는 마치 유니콘과 같은 힘을 지녔도다. 그가 그의 원수들인 민족들을 먹어 치울 것이요, 그들의 뼈들을 부러뜨릴 것이요, 그의 화살들로 그들을 꿰뚫으리로다.

8 God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.

9 그가 웅크렸으니, 사자같이, 거대한 사자같이 그가 드러누웠도다. 누가 그를 도발하겠는가? 너를 축복하는 자는 복을 받고, 너를 저주하는 자는 저주를 받는도다.”

9 He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.

10 ¶ 그러자 발락의 분노가 발라암을 대적하여 타올랐으니, 그가 자기 손뼉들을 마주쳤더라. 그러면서 발락이 발라암에게 이같이 말하였더라. “나의 원수들을 저주하라고 내가 너를 불렀는데, 보라, 너는 이처럼 세 번이나 그들을 전적으로 축복하였도다.

10 ¶ And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.

11 그러므로 이제 너는 너의 처소로 도망하라. 내가 너를 커다란 존귀로 높이려고 생각하였으나, 보라, 주께서 네가 존귀에 이르지 못하도록 막으셨도다.”

11 Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honour; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honour.

12 그러자 발라암이 발락에게 이같이 말하였더라. “당신이 제게 보낸 당신의 전령들에게도 제가 일러 말하기를,

12 And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,

13 ‘만일 발락이 은과 금으로 가득 채운 그의 집을 나에게 준다 해도, 나는 주의 명령을 넘어서 나 자신의 생각대로 좋은 것이나 나쁜 것을 행할 수 없나이다. 오직 주께서 말씀하시는 것만을 내가 전하겠나이다.’ 하지 아니하였나이까?

13 If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?

14 그런즉 보소서, 이제 저는 저의 백성에게로 가나이다. 그러므로 오소서. 그리하면 제가 이 백성이 마지막에 가까운 날들에 당신의 백성에게 무엇을 행할지 당신께 알려 드리겠나이다.”

14 And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.

15 ¶ 이윽고 그가 그의 비유를 지어 이같이 말하였더라. “브올의 아들 발라암이 말하였으며, 두 눈이 열린 사람이 말하였도다.

15 ¶ And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:

16 하나님의 말씀들을 들은 자요, 지극히 높으신 분의 지식을 안 자요, 전능하신 분의 현시를 본 자요, 현시의 몰입에 빠졌으나 자기 두 눈을 뜨고 있는 자가 말하였도다.

16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:

17 내가 그를 쳐다볼 것이나 지금은 아니라. 내가 그를 볼 것이나 가깝지는 않도다. 야곱에게서 한 별이 나올 것이요, 이스라엘에서 한 왕홀이 일어날 것이니, 모압의 구석구석을 치고 솃의 모든 자녀들을 멸하리라.

17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

18 그리하면 에돔은 소유가 될 것이요, 세일도 그의 원수들을 위한 소유가 되리라. 그리고 이스라엘은 용맹하게 행하리라.

18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

19 야곱에게서 통치권을 가진 자가 나올 것이요, 도시에 남아 있는 자를 멸하리라.”

19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

20 ¶ 이어서 그가 아말렉을 바라보았을 때 그가 그의 비유를 지어 말하기를, “아말렉은 민족들의 첫째였도다. 그러나 그의 나중 결말에는 그가 영원토록 멸망하리라.” 하였더라.

20 ¶ And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.

21 이어서 그가 켄족들을 바라보며 그의 비유를 지어 말하였더라. “너의 거주지는 튼튼하며, 너는 너의 보금자리를 바위 가운데 두는도다.

21 And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwellingplace, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.

22 그럼에도 불구하고 켄족이 진몰되리니, 마침내 앗슈르가 너를 포로로 잡아가 버리리라.”

22 Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.

23 이어서 그가 그의 비유를 지어 말하였더라. “아, 슬프도다. 하나님께서 이것을 행하실 때 누가 살아남겠는가!

23 And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

24 그런즉 선박들이 킷팀의 연안에서 올 것이요, 앗슈르를 괴롭힐 것이요, 에벨을 괴롭힐 것이요, 그도 영원토록 멸망하리로다.”

24 And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.

25 그러고 나서 발라암이 일어나 가서 자기 처소로 되돌아갔더라. 이에 발락도 자기 길을 갔더라.

25 And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.
