민수기 31장
1 이후에 주께서 모세에게 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
2 “미디안족들에게 이스라엘 자녀들의 원수를 갚으라. 그 후에 너는 너의 백성에게로 합쳐지리라.”
2 Avenge the children of Israel of the Midianites: afterward shalt thou be gathered unto thy people.
3 그리하여 모세가 백성에게 이같이 일러 말하였더라. “너희 가운데 일부를 무장시켜서 전쟁에 내보내라. 그리하여 그들로 하여금 미디안족들을 대적하여 가게 하고 미디안에게 주의 복수를 하게 하라.
3 And Moses spake unto the people, saying, Arm some of yourselves unto the war, and let them go against the Midianites, and avenge the LORD of Midian.
4 너희는 이스라엘의 모든 지파들을 통틀어 모든 지파에서 저마다 일천 명씩 뽑아서 전쟁에 내보낼지니라.”
4 Of every tribe a thousand, throughout all the tribes of Israel, shall ye send to the war.
5 그렇게 하여 이스라엘의 수천 중 모든 지파에서 저마다 일천 명씩 넘겨졌으니, 전쟁을 위하여 무장된 일만 이천 명이더라.
5 So there were delivered out of the thousands of Israel, a thousand of every tribe, twelve thousand armed for war.
6 그런즉 모세가 모든 지파에서 저마다 일천 명씩 뽑아 그들을 전쟁에 내보냈으니, 그들과 더불어 제사장 엘르아잘의 아들인 피느하스를 거룩한 기구들과 함께 전쟁으로 향하게 하였고 부는 나팔들을 그의 손에 들려 주었더라.
6 And Moses sent them to the war, a thousand of every tribe, them and Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest, to the war, with the holy instruments, and the trumpets to blow in his hand.
7 그러자 그들이 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 미디안족들을 대적하여 전쟁을 하였으니, 그들이 모든 남성들을 살해하였더라.
7 And they warred against the Midianites, as the LORD commanded Moses; and they slew all the males.
8 그리고 그들은 그 살해된 자들 가운데서 남은 자들을 제외하고도 미디안의 왕들을 살해하였으니, 즉 미디안의 다섯 왕인 에위와 레켐과 주르와 훌과 레바라. 브올의 아들 발라암 역시 그들이 칼로 살해하였더라.
8 And they slew the kings of Midian, beside the rest of them that were slain; namely, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba, five kings of Midian: Balaam also the son of Beor they slew with the sword.
9 그러고 나서 이스라엘 자녀들이 미디안의 모든 여자들과 그들의 어린것들을 포로들로 잡아갔고 그들의 모든 가축들과 그들의 양 떼들과 그들의 모든 소유물들을 노획물로 취하였더라.
9 And the children of Israel took all the women of Midian captives, and their little ones, and took the spoil of all their cattle, and all their flocks, and all their goods.
10 그러고 나서 그들은 저들이 거하였던 저들의 모든 도시들과 저들의 훌륭한 성채들을 불로 태웠더라.
10 And they burnt all their cities wherein they dwelt, and all their goodly castles, with fire.
11 그리하여 그들은 사람들이고 짐승들이고 할 것 없이 모든 노획물과 모든 전리품을 취하였더라.
11 And they took all the spoil, and all the prey, both of men and of beasts.
12 그런 다음에 그들이 포로들과 전리품과 노획물을 모세와 제사장 엘르아잘에게와 이스라엘 자녀들의 회중에게로 가져갔으니, 곧 예리코에서 가까운 요르단 옆 모압의 평야들에 있는 진영으로 가져갔더라.
12 And they brought the captives, and the prey, and the spoil, unto Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and unto the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the camp at the plains of Moab, which are by Jordan near Jericho.
13 ¶ 그러자 모세와 제사장 엘르아잘과 회중의 모든 통치자들이 그들을 맞이하러 진영 밖으로 나갔더라.
13 ¶ And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the congregation, went forth to meet them without the camp.
14 그런데 모세가 전투에서 돌아온 군대 관원들에게 격노하였으니, 곧 천인대장들과 백인대장들에게라.
14 And Moses was wroth with the officers of the host, with the captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, which came from the battle.
15 그런즉 모세가 그들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “너희가 여자들을 전부 살려 두었느냐?
15 And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
16 보라, 이들이 발라암의 조언을 통하여 프올의 사건 때 이스라엘 자녀들로 하여금 주를 대적하여 범법을 저지르게 하였느니라. 그런즉 주의 회중 가운데 재앙이 있었도다.
16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.
17 그러므로 이제 어린것들 중에서 모든 남아를 저마다 죽이고, 남자와 동침하여 남자를 안 모든 여자를 저마다 죽이라.
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 그러나 남자와 동침하지 아니하여 남자를 모르는 여자아이들은 모두 너희 자신을 위하여 살려 둘지니라.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves.
19 그런 다음에 너희는 칠 일 동안 진영 밖에서 거하라. 누구든지 어떤 인간이라도 죽인 자와 살해당한 어떤 자라도 만진 자는 누구든지 셋째 날에와 일곱째 날에 정화하되, 너희 자신과 너희의 포로들을 모두 정화하라.
19 And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
20 그리고 너희의 모든 의상과, 가죽들로 만들어진 모든 것과, 염소들의 털로 된 모든 제품과, 모든 목제품들도 정화하라.”
20 And purify all your raiment, and all that is made of skins, and all work of goats' hair, and all things made of wood.
21 ¶ 그런 다음에 제사장 엘르아잘이 전투에 출전했던 전사들에게 이같이 말하였더라. “이것이 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 율법의 법령이라.
21 ¶ And Eleazar the priest said unto the men of war which went to the battle, This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD commanded Moses;
22 오직 금과 은과 놋과 철과 주석과 납과
22 Only the gold, and the silver, the brass, the iron, the tin, and the lead,
23 불속에서 견딜 만한 모든 것마다 너희가 그것으로 하여금 불을 통과하게 하라. 그리하면 그것이 정결해지리라. 그럼에도 불구하고 그것은 구별의 물로 정화되어야 하리라. 그리고 불을 견디지 못하는 것은 전부 그 물을 통과하게 할지니라.
23 Every thing that may abide the fire, ye shall make it go through the fire, and it shall be clean: nevertheless it shall be purified with the water of separation: and all that abideth not the fire ye shall make go through the water.
24 그런 다음에 너희는 일곱째 날에 너희의 옷을 빨지니, 그리하면 너희가 정결해질 것이요, 그 후에야 너희는 진영 안으로 들어올지니라.”
24 And ye shall wash your clothes on the seventh day, and ye shall be clean, and afterward ye shall come into the camp.
25 ¶ 이후에 주께서 모세에게 이같이 일러 말씀하셨느니라.
25 ¶ And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
26 “너와, 제사장 엘르아잘과, 회중의 족부들은, 사람이고 짐승이고 할 것 없이 잡혀 온 전리품의 총합을 집계하라.
26 Take the sum of the prey that was taken, both of man and of beast, thou, and Eleazar the priest, and the chief fathers of the congregation:
27 그런 다음에 그 전리품들을 두 부분으로 나누되, 전투에 나가 직접 전쟁을 수행했던 자들 사이에서 한 부분을, 온 회중 사이에서 한 부분을 나눌지니라.
27 And divide the prey into two parts; between them that took the war upon them, who went out to battle, and between all the congregation:
28 그런 다음에 전투에 나갔던 전사들에게서 주께 드리는 공물을 징수하되, 인간들 중에서도, 육우들 중에서도, 나귀들 중에서도, 양들 중에서도 오백 혼 중에서 한 혼을 취할지니라.
28 And levy a tribute unto the LORD of the men of war which went out to battle: one soul of five hundred, both of the persons, and of the beeves, and of the asses, and of the sheep:
29 그들에게 주어진 절반의 전리품에서 공물을 취한 뒤 그것을 주의 들어 올리는 제물로 제사장 엘르아잘에게 줄지니라.
29 Take it of their half, and give it unto Eleazar the priest, for an heave offering of the LORD.
30 또 이스라엘 자녀들에게 주어진 절반의 전리품에서도 너는 오십 분의 일 몫을 취하되, 인간들 중에서, 육우들 중에서, 나귀들 중에서, 또 양 떼들 중에서, 모든 부류의 짐승들 중에서 취하여 그것들을 주의 성막의 책무를 지키는 레위인들에게 줄지니라.”
30 And of the children of Israel's half, thou shalt take one portion of fifty, of the persons, of the beeves, of the asses, and of the flocks, of all manner of beasts, and give them unto the Levites, which keep the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.
31 그러자 모세와 제사장 엘르아잘이 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로 행하였더라.
31 And Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD commanded Moses.
32 그리하여 전사들이 포획한 전리품 중 나머지인 그 노획품은 양들이 육십칠만 오천 마리요,
32 And the booty, being the rest of the prey which the men of war had caught, was six hundred thousand and seventy thousand and five thousand sheep,
33 육우들이 칠만 이천 마리요,
33 And threescore and twelve thousand beeves,
34 나귀들이 육만 일천 마리요,
34 And threescore and one thousand asses,
35 인간들이 총 삼만 이천 명이었으니, 남자와 동침하지 않아 남자를 모르는 여자들에 속한 자들이라.
35 And thirty and two thousand persons in all, of women that had not known man by lying with him.
36 그리고 그 절반인, 전쟁터로 나갔던 자들의 몫을 수로 세니 양들이 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리였더라.
36 And the half, which was the portion of them that went out to war, was in number three hundred thousand and seven and thirty thousand and five hundred sheep:
37 그런즉 양들 중에서 주의 공물은 육백칠십오 마리였더라.
37 And the LORD'S tribute of the sheep was six hundred and threescore and fifteen.
38 그리고 육우들은 삼만 육천 마리였으니, 그 중에서 주의 공물은 칠십이 마리였더라.
38 And the beeves were thirty and six thousand; of which the LORD'S tribute was threescore and twelve.
39 그리고 나귀들은 삼만 오백 마리였으니, 그 중에서 주의 공물은 육십일 마리였더라.
39 And the asses were thirty thousand and five hundred; of which the LORD'S tribute was threescore and one.
40 그리고 인간들은 일만 육천 명이었으니, 그 중에서 주의 공물은 삼십이 명이었더라.
40 And the persons were sixteen thousand; of which the LORD'S tribute was thirty and two persons.
41 그리하여 모세가 주의 들어 올리는 제물인 그 공물을 제사장 엘르아잘에게 주었으니, 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로였더라.
41 And Moses gave the tribute, which was the LORD'S heave offering, unto Eleazar the priest, as the LORD commanded Moses.
42 그리고 모세가 전쟁을 치렀던 남자들에게 받아서 나눈, 이스라엘 자녀들의 절반의 전리품,
42 And of the children of Israel's half, which Moses divided from the men that warred,
43 (이때 회중에게 귀속된 절반은 양들이 삼십삼만 칠천오백 마리요,
43 (Now the half that pertained unto the congregation was three hundred thousand and thirty thousand and seven thousand and five hundred sheep,
44 육우들이 삼만 육천 마리요,
44 And thirty and six thousand beeves,
45 나귀들이 삼만 오백 마리요,
45 And thirty thousand asses and five hundred,
46 인간들이 일만 육천 명이었더라.)
46 And sixteen thousand persons;)
47 곧 이스라엘 자녀들에 속한 절반의 전리품은 모세가 사람이고 짐승이고 할 것 없이 오십 분의 일 몫을 취하여 주의 성막의 책무를 지킨 레위인들에게 그것들을 주었으니, 주께서 모세에게 명령하신 대로였더라.
47 Even of the children of Israel's half, Moses took one portion of fifty, both of man and of beast, and gave them unto the Levites, which kept the charge of the tabernacle of the LORD; as the LORD commanded Moses.
48 ¶ 그리고 수천의 군대를 통솔한 관원들인, 천인대장들과 백인대장들이 모세에게 가까이 나아왔더라.
48 ¶ And the officers which were over thousands of the host, the captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, came near unto Moses:
49 그런즉 그들이 모세에게 이같이 말하였더라. “당신의 종들이 우리의 책무 아래에 있는 전사들의 총합을 집계하였는데 우리 가운데 부족한 사람이 한 명도 없나이다.
49 And they said unto Moses, Thy servants have taken the sum of the men of war which are under our charge, and there lacketh not one man of us.
50 그러므로 우리가 주를 위하여 헌납물을 가져왔으니, 모든 사람이 저마다 얻은 것으로 주 앞에서 우리의 혼들을 위한 속죄를 이행하고자 금제 장신구들과 목걸이들과 팔찌들과 반지들과 귀고리들과 납작한 패물들의 일부를 가져왔나이다.”
50 We have therefore brought an oblation for the LORD, what every man hath gotten, of jewels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to make an atonement for our souls before the LORD.
51 그러자 모세와 제사장 엘르아잘이 그들에게서 금을 취하였으니, 곧 모두 가공된 장신구들이었더라.
51 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of them, even all wrought jewels.
52 그리하여 천인대장들에게서와 백인대장들에게서 그들이 주께 바친 봉헌물의 금이 총 일만 육천칠백오십 셰켈이었더라.
52 And all the gold of the offering that they offered up to the LORD, of the captains of thousands, and of the captains of hundreds, was sixteen thousand seven hundred and fifty shekels.
53 (이는 전사들 각인이 자신을 위하여 노획물을 취하였기 때문이라.)
53 (For the men of war had taken spoil, every man for himself.)
54 그런즉 모세와 제사장 엘르아잘이 천인대장들에게서와 백인대장들에게서 금을 취하여 그것을 회중의 성막 안으로 가져왔으니, 주 앞에서 이스라엘 자녀들을 위한 기념으로 삼았더라.
54 And Moses and Eleazar the priest took the gold of the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and brought it into the tabernacle of the congregation, for a memorial for the children of Israel before the LORD.
