욥기 32장
1 그렇게 하여 이 세 사람이 욥에게 대답하기를 중단하였으니, 그가 자기 자신의 두 눈에 의로웠기 때문이라.
1 So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
2 그때 람의 종족에 속하는 부즈족 바라켈의 아들 엘리후의 격노가 타올랐더라. 그의 격노가 욥을 대적하여 타올랐으니, 그가 하나님보다 자신을 더 정당화하였기 때문이라.
2 Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
3 또한 그의 세 친구들을 대적하여 그의 격노가 타올랐으니, 그들이 답을 발견하지 못하였음에도 욥을 정죄한 까닭이라.
3 Also against his three friends was his wrath kindled, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.
4 이때 엘리후는 욥이 이야기를 할 때까지 기다렸으니, 그들이 그보다 연장자였던 까닭이라.
4 Now Elihu had waited till Job had spoken, because they were elder than he.
5 엘리후가 이 세 사람들의 입안에 답이 없다는 것을 보았던 그때 그의 격노가 타올랐더라.
5 When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, then his wrath was kindled.
6 그런즉 부즈족 바라켈의 아들 엘리후가 답하였고 이같이 말하였더라. “나는 젊고 당신들은 나이가 아주 많나이다. 이러한 이유로 내가 무서웠기에 나의 의견을 당신들에게 감히 보이지 못하였나이다.
6 And Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered and said, I am young, and ye are very old; wherefore I was afraid, and durst not shew you mine opinion.
7 내가 말하기를, ‘날들이 말해야 하며 연수들의 허다함이 지혜를 가르쳐야 하는도다.’ 하였나이다.
7 I said, Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.
8 그러나 사람 안에 영이 있나이다. 또 전능하신 분의 영감이 그들에게 명철을 주시나이다.
8 But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.
9 위대한 사람들이 항상 지혜로운 것은 아니니이다. 또한 나이 많은 자들이 공의를 알게 되는 것도 아니니이다.
9 Great men are not always wise: neither do the aged understand judgment.
10 그러므로 내가 말하기를, ‘제게 경청하소서. 저도 제 의견을 보이겠나이다.’ 하였나이다.
10 Therefore I said, Hearken to me; I also will shew mine opinion.
11 보소서, 내가 당신들의 말들을 기다렸나이다. 내가 당신들이 말할 것을 찾던 동안 당신들의 논증들을 귀담아들었나이다.
11 Behold, I waited for your words; I gave ear to your reasons, whilst ye searched out what to say.
12 진정 나는 당신들에게 집중하였으니, 보소서, 당신들 중 아무도 욥을 납득시키거나 그의 말들에 답한 자가 없었나이다.
12 Yea, I attended unto you, and, behold, there was none of you that convinced Job, or that answered his words:
13 당신들은 말하기를, ‘우리가 지혜를 발견해 냈도다. 사람이 아니라 하나님께서 그를 밀쳐 내시는도다.’ 하지 않게 하소서.
13 Lest ye should say, We have found out wisdom: God thrusteth him down, not man.
14 이제 그는 자신의 말들을 나를 대적하여 겨냥하지 아니하였나이다. 나 또한 당신들의 언사들로 그에게 답하지 아니하겠나이다.”
14 Now he hath not directed his words against me: neither will I answer him with your speeches.
15 그들이 놀랐으니, 더 이상 그들이 대답하지 아니하였더라. 그들이 이야기하는 것을 중지하였더라.
15 They were amazed, they answered no more: they left off speaking.
16 앞서 내가 기다렸을 때 (이는 그들이 이야기하지 아니하였고 다만 가만히 서서 더 이상 답하지 아니하였기 때문이라.)
16 When I had waited, (for they spake not, but stood still, and answered no more;)
17 내가 이같이 말하였더라. “나 역시 나의 부분을 답하겠나이다. 나 역시 나의 의견을 보이겠나이다.
17 I said, I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.
18 이는 내가 말할 내용으로 가득 차 있고, 내 안에 있는 영이 나를 강하게 압박하기 때문이니이다.
18 For I am full of matter, the spirit within me constraineth me.
19 보소서, 나의 배는 통풍구 없는 포도즙과 같나이다. 그것이 새 부대들처럼 터질 듯하나이다.
19 Behold, my belly is as wine which hath no vent; it is ready to burst like new bottles.
20 내가 이야기하겠나니, 내가 시원해지고자 함이니이다. 내가 나의 입술을 열어 답하겠나이다.
20 I will speak, that I may be refreshed: I will open my lips and answer.
21 내가 당신들에게 간구하오니, 어떤 사람도 외모로 받아들이지 않는 것을 나에게 허락하소서. 또한 사람에게 아첨하는 칭호들을 붙이지 않는 것을 나에게 허락하소서.
21 Let me not, I pray you, accept any man's person, neither let me give flattering titles unto man.
22 이는 내가 아첨하는 칭호들을 붙일 줄 모르기 때문이니이다. 그렇게 행하면 나를 만드신 분께서 얼마되지 않아 나를 제거하시리이다.
22 For I know not to give flattering titles; in so doing my maker would soon take me away.
