욥기 42장

1 그때 욥이 주께 대답하여 이같이 말씀드렸더라.

1 Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

2 “당신께서 모든 것을 저마다 행하실 수 있다는 것과 어떤 생각도 당신께 숨겨질 수 없다는 것을 제가 아나이다.

2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.

3 지식이 없이 이치를 가리는 자가 누구니이까? 그러므로 저는 제가 이해하지 못한 것을 발설하였나니, 제게 너무 경이로운 것들이요, 제가 몰랐던 것이니이다.

3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

4 제가 당신께 간청하오니, 들어주시옵소서. 그리하면 제가 말씀드리겠나이다. 제가 당신께 여쭙겠나이다. 그리하면 당신께서 제게 분명히 밝혀 주시옵소서.

4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

5 제가 귀로 듣는 것을 통하여 당신에 관하여 들어 왔나이다. 그러나 이제 제 눈이 당신을 보나이다.

5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

6 이러한 이유로 제가 제 자신을 혐오하고 티끌과 재들 속에서 회개하나이다.”

6 Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes.

7 ¶ 그리고 이와 같은 일이 있었으니, 주께서 이 말들을 욥에게 전하신 후에 주께서 테만족 엘리파즈에게 말씀하시기를, “나의 진노가 너를 대적하여, 또 너의 두 친구들을 대적하여 타올랐도다. 이는 너희가 나의 종 욥이 한 대로 나에 관하여 옳은 것을 이야기하지 아니한 까닭이라.

7 ¶ And it was so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.

8 그러므로 지금 일곱 마리의 수송아지들과 일곱 마리의 숫양들을 너희에게로 취하고 나의 종 욥에게 가서 너희 자신들을 위하여 번제물을 올려바치라. 그리하면 나의 종 욥이 너희를 위하여 기도하리라. 내가 그로 인하여 기꺼이 받아들일 것이니, 너희가 나의 종 욥이 나에 관하여 옳은 것을 이야기한 것처럼 하지 아니한 점에 있어서 내가 너희의 우둔함에 따라 너희를 다루지 아니하려 함이라.”

8 Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.

9 그렇게 하여 테만족 엘리파즈와 슈아족 빌닷과 나아맛족 조팔이 가서 주께서 그들에게 명령하신 대로 행하였더라. 주께서도 욥을 기꺼이 받아들이셨더라.

9 So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the LORD commanded them: the LORD also accepted Job.

10 그런즉 주께서 욥이 그의 친구들을 위하여 기도할 때 욥의 사로잡힘을 돌이키셨더라. 또한 주께서 욥에게 그가 이전에 가지고 있던 것의 두 배를 주셨더라.

10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.

11 그때 그의 모든 형제들과 그의 모든 자매들과 이전에 그의 지인들이었던 모든 자들이 거기로 왔고 그의 집 안에서 그와 함께 빵을 먹었더라. 그리고 그들이 그를 불쌍히 여겼으니, 주께서 그에게 가져오신 모든 해악에 대하여 그를 위로하였더라. 또한 각인이 그에게 동전 한 개씩을 주었고, 또 각자 금귀고리 한 개씩을 주었더라.

11 Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

12 그렇게 하여 주께서 욥의 초기보다 그의 나중 결말에 더 복을 주셨더라. 이는 그가 일만 사천 마리의 양들과 육천 마리의 낙타들과 일천 쌍의 소들과 일천 마리의 암나귀들을 보유하였기 때문이라.

12 So the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning: for he had fourteen thousand sheep, and six thousand camels, and a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand she asses.

13 그가 또한 일곱 명의 아들들과 세 명의 딸들을 두었더라.

13 He had also seven sons and three daughters.

14 그리고 그가 첫째 딸의 이름을 여미마라 불렀더라. 그리고 둘째 딸의 이름은 크지아요, 셋째 딸의 이름은 케렌합푹이라.

14 And he called the name of the first, Jemima; and the name of the second, Kezia; and the name of the third, Kerenhappuch.

15 그런즉 욥의 딸들같이 그토록 어여쁜 여자들은 온 지역에 없었더라. 그리하여 그들의 아버지가 그들에게 그들의 형제들 가운데서 유산을 주었더라.

15 And in all the land were no women found so fair as the daughters of Job: and their father gave them inheritance among their brethren.

16 이런 일이 있은 후에 욥이 일백사십 년 동안 살았고 그의 아들들과 그의 아들들의 아들들을 무려 사 대까지 보았더라.

16 After this lived Job an hundred and forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons' sons, even four generations.

17 그렇게 하여 욥이 나이가 들고 날들이 다 차서 죽었더라.

17 So Job died, being old and full of days.
