욥기 40장
1 이에 더하여 주께서 욥에게 답하시며 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
1 Moreover the LORD answered Job, and said,
2 “전능한 이와 다투는 자가 그를 가르치겠느냐? 하나님을 책망하는 자, 그로 하여금 그것을 답하게 하라.”
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 ¶ 그때 욥이 주께 대답하여 이같이 말씀드렸더라.
3 ¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 “보소서, 저는 비천하나이다. 제가 당신께 무엇을 답하겠나이까? 제가 저의 손을 저의 입에 올리겠나이다.
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 한 번 제가 말하였나이다. 그러나 제가 답하지 아니하겠나이다. 진정 두 번 말하였으나 제가 여기서 더 말을 잇지 아니하겠나이다.”
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 ¶ 그때 주께서 회오리바람 속에서 욥에게 답하시고 이같이 말씀하셨느니라.
6 ¶ Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 “남자답게 지금 너의 허리를 동여매라. 나는 너에게 질문을 던지겠노라. 그리하면 너는 나에게 분명히 밝히라.
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 너는 또한 나의 공의를 무효화하겠느냐? 너는 스스로 의로워지려고 나를 정죄하겠느냐?
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 너는 하나님 같은 팔을 가지고 있느냐? 아니면 네가 그분과 같은 음성으로 천둥소리를 낼 수 있겠느냐?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 지금 너 자신을 존엄과 탁월함으로 꾸며 보라. 그리하여 영광과 아름다움을 스스로 차려입으라.
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 너의 진노의 격정을 널리 던져 보라. 그리하여 교만한 모든 자를 낱낱이 보고 그를 격하시켜 보라.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 교만한 모든 자를 저마다 바라보고 그를 낮춰 보라. 그리하여 사악한 자들을 그들의 처소 안에서 짓밟아 보라.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 그들을 다 함께 진토 안에다 숨겨 보라. 그리하여 그들의 얼굴을 비밀리에 싸매 보라.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 그때는 나도 너 자신의 오른손이 너를 구원할 수 있다는 것을 너에게 시인하겠노라.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 ¶ 이제, 너와 마찬가지로 내가 만든 베헤못을 보라. 그는 소같이 풀을 먹느니라.
15 ¶ Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 이제 보라, 그의 힘은 자기 허리 안에 있고 그의 기력은 자기 배의 배꼽 안에 있느니라.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 그는 자신의 꼬리를 백향목처럼 움직이느니라. 그의 고환들의 힘줄은 함께 감겨 있느니라.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 그의 뼈들은 단단한 놋 조각들과 같으니라. 그의 뼈들은 철 빗장들과도 같으니라.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 그는 하나님의 길들에서 단연 으뜸이라. 그를 만든 이는 자신의 칼로 하여금 그에게로 다가가게 할 수 있느니라.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 분명히 산들은 그에게 양식을 꺼내나니, 그 산들은 모든 들짐승들이 노는 곳이라.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 그가 갈대의 잠복처와 늪지대들 안에서 그늘진 나무들 아래에서 눕는도다.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 그 그늘진 나무들이 그를 그것들의 그늘로 덮는도다. 시내의 그 버드나무들이 그의 주위를 둘러싸는도다.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 보라, 그가 강을 마셔 버리나니, 서두르지 아니하는도다. 그는 자신이 요르단을 그의 입안으로 다 빨아들일 수 있다고 확신하는도다.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 그가 자신의 두 눈으로 그것을 취하며, 그의 코가 올무들을 꿰뚫는도다.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
