욥기 5장
1 이제 만일 너에게 대답하려 하는 누군가가 있다면 불러오라. 또 네가 성도들 중 누구에게로 돌이키겠느냐?
1 Call now, if there be any that will answer thee; and to which of the saints wilt thou turn?
2 이는 진노가 어리석은 사람을 죽이며, 시기가 철없는 이를 살해하기 때문이라.
2 For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.
3 내가 어리석은 자들이 뿌리를 내린 것을 보아 왔노라. 그러나 나는 돌연히 그의 거처를 저주하였노라.
3 I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.
4 그의 자녀들은 안전으로부터 멀리 있고 그들은 성문 안에서 유린당하였으며 그들을 구출할 어떤 자도 없도다.
4 His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.
5 그의 수확은 배고픈 자들이 먹어 치우니 가시나무들에서 난 수확조차 가져가며, 강도가 그들의 재물을 삼켜 버리는도다.
5 Whose harvest the hungry eateth up, and taketh it even out of the thorns, and the robber swalloweth up their substance.
6 비록 고난이 진토에서 나오지 아니하며 곤경도 지면에서 솟아나지 아니한다 할지라도
6 Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;
7 그럼에도 불티들이 위로 날아가는 것같이 사람은 고생에 이르도록 태어나는도다.
7 Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.
8 나는 하나님께 구할 것이요, 나는 나의 송사를 하나님께 맡기리라.
8 I would seek unto God, and unto God would I commit my cause:
9 그분께서 위대하고 헤아릴 수 없는 것들을 행하시나니, 경탄스러운 것들을 수도 없이 행하시는도다.
9 Which doeth great things and unsearchable; marvellous things without number:
10 그분께서 땅 위에 비를 내리시고 들판들 위에 물들을 보내시느니라.
10 Who giveth rain upon the earth, and sendeth waters upon the fields:
11 이는 낮은 자들을 높이 세우시려 함이요, 애곡하는 자들을 안전에 이르도록 크게 높이시려 함이라.
11 To set up on high those that be low; that those which mourn may be exalted to safety.
12 그분께서 간사한 자들의 계책들을 좌절시키시기에 그들의 손은 그들이 벌린 사업을 수행할 수 없느니라.
12 He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
13 그분께서 지혜로운 자들을 그들 자신의 꾀 안에 빠뜨리시느니라. 그런즉 왜곡된 자들의 계획이 거꾸로 이루어지는도다.
13 He taketh the wise in their own craftiness: and the counsel of the froward is carried headlong.
14 그들이 낮 시간에 어둠을 맞닥뜨리고, 대낮에 밤중일 때같이 더듬느니라.
14 They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.
15 그러나 그분께서 칼에서, 그들의 입에서, 막강한 자들의 손에서 가난한 자들을 구원하시느니라.
15 But he saveth the poor from the sword, from their mouth, and from the hand of the mighty.
16 그렇게 하여 가난한 자들이 소망을 지니나니, 죄악이 그녀의 입을 막느니라.
16 So the poor hath hope, and iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
17 보라, 하나님께서 바로잡으시는 사람은 행복하도다. 그러므로 너는 전능하신 분의 징계를 멸시하지 말라.
17 Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:
18 그분은 아프게 하시다가 싸매시며 상처를 내시다가 자신의 두 손으로 온전하게 하시느니라.
18 For he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole.
19 그분께서 여섯 곤경들에서 너를 구출하시리라. 진정 일곱에서도 해악이 너를 건드리는 일이 없으리라.
19 He shall deliver thee in six troubles: yea, in seven there shall no evil touch thee.
20 그분께서 너를 구속하시리니, 기근 가운데서는 죽음으로부터, 전쟁 가운데서는 칼의 권세로부터 구속하시리라.
20 In famine he shall redeem thee from death: and in war from the power of the sword.
21 너는 혀의 채찍질에서 숨겨지리라. 또한 멸망이 올 때 너는 그것을 무서워하지 아니하리라.
21 Thou shalt be hid from the scourge of the tongue: neither shalt thou be afraid of destruction when it cometh.
22 너는 멸망과 기근을 비웃으리라. 또한 너는 땅의 짐승들도 무서워하지 아니하리라.
22 At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.
23 이는 네가 들의 돌들과 맹약 안에 있을 것이기 때문이라. 또 들짐승들이 너와 화목할 것이라.
23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee.
24 그리하여 너는 너의 장막이 화평 가운데 있을 것임을 알리라. 그리고 너는 너의 거처를 방문할 것이요, 죄를 짓지 아니할 것이라.
24 And thou shalt know that thy tabernacle shall be in peace; and thou shalt visit thy habitation, and shalt not sin.
25 너는 너의 씨가 위대해질 것과 너의 후예들이 땅의 풀과 같을 것을 알리라.
25 Thou shalt know also that thy seed shall be great, and thine offspring as the grass of the earth.
26 곡식 더미가 그의 시기에 들어오는 것처럼 너는 천수를 누리다가 너의 무덤에 이르리라.
26 Thou shalt come to thy grave in a full age, like as a shock of corn cometh in in his season.
27 이것을 보라. 우리가 그것을 찾아보았더니 그것이 그러하도다. 그것을 듣고 너는 너의 선을 위하여 그것을 알라.”
27 Lo this, we have searched it, so it is; hear it, and know thou it for thy good.
