잠언 10장

1 솔로몬의 잠언들이라. 지혜로운 아들은 아버지를 흡족하게 하느니라. 그러나 어리석은 아들은 그의 어머니의 상심이 되느니라.

1 The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

2 사악함의 보물들은 아무 유익도 주지 못하느니라. 그러나 의는 죽음에서 구출하느니라.

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.

3 주께서는 의로운 자의 혼이 굶주리는 것을 용납하지 아니하시리라. 그러나 그분께서는 사악한 자들의 재물을 던져 버리시느니라.

3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

4 나태한 손으로 처신하는 자는 가난하게 되느니라. 그러나 부지런한 자들의 손은 부유하게 하느니라.

4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

5 여름에 거두어들이는 자는 지혜로운 아들이라. 그러나 수확기에 잠자는 자는 수치를 불러일으키는 아들이라.

5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

6 의인의 머리 위에는 복들이 있느니라. 그러나 폭력은 사악한 자들의 입을 덮느니라.

6 Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

7 의인을 기념하는 것은 복되도다. 그러나 사악한 자들의 이름은 썩어 문드러지리라.

7 The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

8 마음이 지혜로운 자는 명령들을 받아들일 것이라. 그러나 나불대는 어리석은 자는 몰락하리라.

8 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.

9 올바르게 살아가는 자는 흔들림 없이 살아가느니라. 그러나 자기 길들을 비뚤게 하는 자는 알려지리라.

9 He that walketh uprightly walketh surely: but he that perverteth his ways shall be known.

10 눈으로 눈짓하는 자는 슬픔을 야기하느니라. 그러나 나불대는 어리석은 자는 몰락하리라.

10 He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.

11 의로운 사람의 입은 생명의 샘물이라. 그러나 폭력은 사악한 자들의 입을 덮느니라.

11 The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked.

12 증오는 분쟁들을 불러일으키느니라. 그러나 사랑은 모든 죄들을 덮느니라.

12 Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins.

13 명철을 지닌 자의 입술에서는 지혜가 발견되느니라. 그러나 명철이 결여된 자의 등을 위해서는 회초리가있느니라.

13 In the lips of him that hath understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

14 지혜로운 사람들은 지식을 쌓아 두느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자의 입은 멸망에 가까우니라.

14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

15 부유한 사람의 부는 그의 견고한 도시요, 가난한 자들의 멸망은 그들의 빈궁이라.

15 The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16 의로운 자의 수고는 생명을 향하나, 악인의 열매는 죄를 향하느니라.

16 The labour of the righteous tendeth to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

17 훈계를 지키는 자는 생명의 길 가운데 있느니라. 그러나 책망을 거부하는 자는 잘못을 저지르느니라.

17 He is in the way of life that keepeth instruction: but he that refuseth reproof erreth.

18 거짓말하는 입술로 증오를 숨기는 자와 중상하는 자는 어리석은 자니라.

18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.

19 말들이 허다한 곳에는 죄가 부족한 일이 없느니라. 그러나 자기 입술을 자제하는 자는 지혜로우니라.

19 In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

20 의인의 혀는 정선된 은 같으니라. 사악한 자의 마음은 가치가 거의 없느니라.

20 The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

21 의로운 자의 입술은 많은 이들을 먹이느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들은 지혜의 부족으로 인하여 죽느니라.

21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.

22 주의 복, 그것은 부요하게 하나니, 그분께서는 그 복에 어떤 슬픔도 더하지 아니하시느니라.

22 The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.

23 위해를 가하는 것은 어리석은 자에게 오락거리와 같으니라. 그러나 명철의 사람은 지혜가 있느니라.

23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.

24 사악한 자의 두려움, 그것이 그의 위에 임하리라. 그러나 의로운 자가 열망하는 것은 승인을 받으리라.

24 The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 회오리바람이 지나가듯이 악인도 이처럼 더 이상 존재하지 아니하느니라. 그러나 의로운 자는 영원한 기초니라.

25 As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

26 이에 식초같이, 두 눈에 연기같이, 게으른 자도 그를 보낸 자들에게 그러하니라.

26 As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

27 주를 두려워하는 것은 날들을 연장하느니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 연수는 짧아지리라.

27 The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 의로운 자들의 소망은 반가움이 되리라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 기대는 멸망하리라.

28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29 주의 길은 올바른 자에게 힘이라. 그러나 멸망은 죄악의 일꾼들에게 있으리라.

29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

30 의로운 자는 결코 제거되지 아니하리라. 그러나 사악한 자들은 땅에 거주하지 못하리라.

30 The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 의인의 입은 지혜를 내어 놓느니라. 그러나 왜곡된 혀는 끊어지리라.

31 The mouth of the just bringeth forth wisdom: but the froward tongue shall be cut out.

32 의로운 자의 입술은 무엇이 기꺼이 받아들여질 만한 것인지 아느니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 입은 왜곡된 것을 이야기하느니라.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.
