잠언 12장

1 훈계를 사랑하는 자는 누구나 지식을 사랑하느니라. 그러나 책망을 증오하는 자는 짐승 같으니라.

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2 선한 사람은 주의 은총을 얻어 내느니라. 그러나 사악한 계책들을 꾀하는 사람은 그분께서 정죄하시리라.

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3 사람이 사악함으로는 확고히 세워지지 못하리라. 그러나 의로운 자들의 뿌리는 움직이지 아니하리라.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 현숙한 여자는 그녀의 남편에게 왕관이라. 그러나 부끄럽게 하는 여자는 그의 뼈들 속에 썩는 것 같으니라.

4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5 의로운 자들의 생각들은 옳으니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 조언들은 속임수니라.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6 사악한 자들의 말들은 피를 노리고 숨어 기다리기 위한 것이라. 그러나 올바른 자들의 입은 그들을 구출하리라.

6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

7 사악한 자들은 괴멸되어 존재하지 아니하느니라. 그러나 의로운 자들의 집은 존속하리라.

7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

8 사람은 그의 지혜에 따라 칭찬을 받으리라. 그러나 마음이 비뚤어진 자는 멸시를 받으리라.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

9 멸시를 받아도 종을 거느리는 자는 스스로를 존귀하게 여기면서도 빵이 모자란 자보다 나으니라.

9 He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

10 의로운 사람은 자기 짐승의 생명을 중요시하느니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 온화한 자비들은 잔인하니라.

10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 자신의 토지를 경작하는 자는 빵으로 만족하리라. 그러나 헛된 인물들을 따르는 자는 명철이 결여되어 있느니라.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

12 사악한 자는 악한 사람들의 그물망을 갈망하느니라. 그러나 의로운 자들의 뿌리는 열매를 내느니라.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

13 사악한 자는 자기 입술의 불법으로 인하여 올무에 걸리느니라. 그러나 의인들은 곤경에서 빠져나오리라.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14 사람은 자기 입의 열매로 인하여 좋은 것으로 만족하리라. 그리고 사람의 두 손의 보답이 그에게로 돌아가리라.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

15 어리석은 자의 길은 자기 자신의 두 눈에 옳으니라. 그러나 조언에 경청하는 자는 지혜로우니라.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

16 어리석은 자의 진노는 즉시로 알려지느니라. 그러나 신중한 사람은 수치를 가리느니라.

16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

17 진리를 말하는 자는 의를 드러내느니라. 그러나 거짓 증인은 속임수를 드러내느니라.

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

18 칼로 찌름들같이 말하는 것이 있느니라. 그러나 지혜로운 자의 혀는 건강이니라.

18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

19 진리의 입술은 영원토록 확고히 세워지리라. 그러나 거짓말하는 혀는 한순간에 불과하니라.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 악을 구상하는 자들의 마음속에는 속임수가 있느니라. 그러나 화평의 조언자들에게는 즐거움이 있느니라.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 의인에게는 어떤 해악도 발생하지 아니하리라. 그러나 사악한 자들은 해로움으로 가득 채워지리라.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 거짓말하는 입술은 주께 가증함이라. 그러나 진실하게 처신하는 자들은 그분의 큰 즐거움이라.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

23 신중한 사람은 지식을 감추느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 마음은 어리석음을 선포하느니라.

23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

24 부지런한 자들의 손은 다스리리라. 그러나 게으른 자는 조공을 바치게 되리라.

24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25 사람의 마음속에 있는 상심이 마음을 움츠리게 하느니라. 그러나 선한 말 한마디는 마음을 흡족하게 하느니라.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

26 의로운 자는 자기 이웃보다 더욱 탁월하니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 길은 그들을 미혹하느니라.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

27 게으른 사람은 자신이 사냥해서 잡은 것을 불에 굽지 아니하느니라. 그러나 부지런한 사람의 재물은 귀하니라.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28 의의 길 가운데는 생명이 있느니라. 그리고 그것의 행로 가운데는 죽음이 전혀 없느니라.

28 In the way of righteousness is life; and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
