잠언 15장
1 부드러운 대답은 진노를 돌아서게 하느니라. 그러나 가혹한 말들은 분노를 불러일으키느니라.
1 A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.
2 지혜로운 자들의 혀는 지식을 올바르게 사용하느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 입은 어리석음을 쏟아 내느니라.
2 The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
3 주의 눈들은 모든 곳마다 있어 악한 자들과 선한 자들을 보느니라.
3 The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.
4 온건한 혀는 생명나무라. 그러나 혀 속에 있는 비뚤어짐은 영 안의 균열이라.
4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
5 어리석은 자는 자기 아버지의 훈계를 멸시하느니라. 그러나 책망을 유념하는 자는 신중하니라.
5 A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.
6 의로운 자의 집 안에는 많은 보물이 있느니라. 그러나 사악한 자의 수입들에는 괴로움이 있느니라.
6 In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.
7 지혜로운 자들의 입술은 지식을 확산시키느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 마음은 그렇게 하지 아니하느니라.
7 The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.
8 사악한 자들의 희생 제물은 주께 가증함이라. 그러나 올바른 자들의 기도는 그분의 큰 즐거움이라.
8 The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
9 사악한 자의 길은 주께 가증함이라. 그러나 그분께서는 의를 뒤따라가는 자를 사랑하시느니라.
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
10 길을 저버리는 자에게는 바로잡음이 비통한 것이라. 그런즉 책망을 증오하는 자는 죽으리라.
10 Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.
11 지옥과 멸망이 주 앞에 있느니라. 그렇다면 하물며 사람들의 자녀들의 마음은 얼마나 더하겠느냐?
11 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?
12 경멸하는 자는 자신을 책망하는 자를 사랑하지 아니하느니라. 또한 그는 지혜로운 자들에게 가려고 하지도 아니하리라.
12 A scorner loveth not one that reproveth him: neither will he go unto the wise.
13 즐거워하는 마음은 안색을 생기 있게 만드느니라. 그러나 마음의 슬픔으로 인하여 영이 상하느니라.
13 A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance: but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is broken.
14 명철을 지닌 자의 마음은 지식을 찾느니라. 그러나 어리석은 자들의 입은 어리석음을 먹고 사느니라.
14 The heart of him that hath understanding seeketh knowledge: but the mouth of fools feedeth on foolishness.
15 고난받는 자의 모든 날들은 불행이라. 그러나 즐거워하는 마음을 지닌 자는 지속적으로 잔치를 하느니라.
15 All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.
16 가진 것이 거의 없더라도 주를 두려워하는 것이 크나큰 보물로 인하여 괴로워하는 것보다 나으니라.
16 Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.
17 나물들로 차려진 정찬에 사랑이 있는 것이 외양간의 소로 차려진 정찬에 증오가 있는 것보다 나으니라.
17 Better is a dinner of herbs where love is, than a stalled ox and hatred therewith.
18 격노하는 사람은 분쟁을 불러일으키느니라. 그러나 분노를 늦추는 자는 다툼을 가라앉히느니라.
18 A wrathful man stirreth up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeaseth strife.
19 게으른 사람의 길은 가시들로 된 한 울타리와 같으니라. 그러나 의로운 자들의 길은 순탄하게 되느니라.
19 The way of the slothful man is as an hedge of thorns: but the way of the righteous is made plain.
20 지혜로운 아들은 아버지를 흡족하게 하느니라. 그러나 어리석은 사람은 자기 어머니를 멸시하느니라.
20 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish man despiseth his mother.
21 지혜가 결여된 자에게 어리석음은 기쁨이라. 그러나 명철한 사람은 올바르게 살아가느니라.
21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
22 조언이 없으면 목적들이 좌절되느니라. 그러나 조언자들이 많으면 그 목적들이 확고히 세워지느니라.
22 Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
23 사람은 자기 입의 대답으로 즐거움을 얻느니라. 그런즉 적합한 시기에 언급된 말 한마디는 얼마나 좋은가!
23 A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!
24 지혜로운 자에게는 생명의 길이 위에 있나니, 그로 하여금 밑에 있는 지옥에서 떠나게 하려 함이라.
24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
25 주께서 교만한 자들의 집을 멸하시리라. 그러나 과부의 경계는 그분께서 확고히 세우시리라.
25 The LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.
26 사악한 자의 생각들은 주께 가증함이라. 그러나 순수한 자의 말들은 기쁨을 주는 말들이라.
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.
27 이득을 욕심내는 자는 자기 자신의 집을 곤경에 빠뜨리느니라. 그러나 뇌물들을 증오하는 자는 살리라.
27 He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live.
28 의로운 자의 마음은 대답하기 위해 연구하느니라. 그러나 사악한 자들의 입은 악한 것들을 쏟아 내느니라.
28 The heart of the righteous studieth to answer: but the mouth of the wicked poureth out evil things.
29 주께서는 사악한 자들에게서 멀리 계시느니라. 그러나 그분께서는 의로운 자들의 기도를 들으시느니라.
29 The LORD is far from the wicked: but he heareth the prayer of the righteous.
30 두 눈의 빛은 마음을 크게 기쁘게 하느니라. 그리고 좋은 보고는 뼈들을 윤택하게 하느니라.
30 The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart: and a good report maketh the bones fat.
31 생명의 책망을 듣는 귀는 지혜로운 자들 가운데 거하느니라.
31 The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise.
32 훈계를 거부하는 자는 자기 자신의 혼을 멸시하느니라. 그러나 책망을 듣는 자는 명철을 얻느니라.
32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.
33 주를 두려워하는 것은 지혜의 훈계라. 그리고 존귀에 앞서 겸손이 있느니라.
33 The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
