신명기 24장

1 어떤 남자가 한 아내를 취하여 그녀와 혼인하였을 때 그가 그녀 안에서 어떤 불결함을 발견한 까닭에 그녀가 그의 두 눈에 호의를 발견하지 못하는 일이 일어난 경우, 그때 그는 그녀에게 이혼장을 써서 그것을 그녀의 손에 주고 그녀를 그의 집에서 내보낼지니라.

1 When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.

2 그리하여 그녀가 그의 집에서 떠날 때, 그녀는 가서 다른 남자의 아내가 될 수 있으리라.

2 And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.

3 그런데 만일 나중 남편도 그녀를 증오하여, 그녀에게 이혼장을 써서 그것을 그녀의 손에 주고 그녀를 그의 집에서 내보내는 경우, 또는 그녀를 그의 아내로 취한 그 나중 남편이 죽는 경우,

3 And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife;

4 그녀를 내보냈던, 그녀의 전남편은 그녀가 더럽혀진 뒤에 그녀를 다시 자기 아내로 취할 수 없느니라. 이는 그것이 주 앞에 가증함이기 때문이라. 그런즉 너는 주 너의 하나님께서 유산으로 너에게 주시는 그 지역으로 하여금 죄를 짓게 하지 말지니라.

4 Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.

5 ¶ 어떤 남자가 한 아내를 새로 얻었다면, 그는 전쟁터로 나가지 말며 그에게는 어떤 임무도 책임지게 하지 말지니라. 다만 그는 일 년 간 집에서 자유롭게 있으면서 그가 얻은 그의 아내를 즐겁게 할지니라.

5 ¶ When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

6 ¶ 어떤 사람도 맷돌의 아래짝이나 위짝을 담보로 취하지 말지니라. 이는 그가 한 사람의 생명을 담보로 취하는 것이기 때문이라.

6 ¶ No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he taketh a man's life to pledge.

7 ¶ 만일 어떤 사람이 이스라엘 자녀들에 속한 자기 형제들 중 누군가를 납치하여 그를 상품화하거나 그를 파는 것이 발견되는 경우, 그때 그 도둑은 죽어야 하리라. 그런즉 너는 너희 가운데서 악을 치워 버릴지니라.

7 ¶ If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and maketh merchandise of him, or selleth him; then that thief shall die; and thou shalt put evil away from among you.

8 ¶ 너는 전염성 나병을 주의하고 레위인들인 제사장들이 너희에게 가르칠 모든 것대로 부지런히 준수하고 실행하라. 내가 그들에게 명령한 대로 너희는 그와 같이 준수하여 실행할지니라.

8 ¶ Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do.

9 너희가 이집트에서 나온 뒤에 주 너의 하나님께서 길에서 미리암에게 행하신 것을 기억하라.

9 Remember what the LORD thy God did unto Miriam by the way, after that ye were come forth out of Egypt.

10 ¶ 네가 너의 형제에게 어떤 것을 빌려줄 때, 너는 그의 담보물을 집어 오기 위하여 그의 집 안으로 들어가지 말지니라.

10 ¶ When thou dost lend thy brother any thing, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge.

11 너는 밖에 서 있고 네가 빌려주는 그 사람이 밖에 있는 너에게 담보물을 가지고 나올지니라.

11 Thou shalt stand abroad, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto thee.

12 그런데 만일 그 사람이 가난한 경우, 너는 그의 담보물을 지닌 채 잠을 자지 말지니라.

12 And if the man be poor, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge:

13 너는 어떤 경우에도 해가 질 때 그 담보물을 그에게 다시 넘겨줄지니, 그로 하여금 자기 소유의 의상을 입고 자게 하며 너를 축복하게 하려 함이라. 그리하면 주 너의 하나님 앞에서 그것이 너에게 의가 되리라.

13 In any case thou shalt deliver him the pledge again when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before the LORD thy God.

14 ¶ 너는 가난하고 빈곤한 고용된 종을 압제하지 말지니, 그가 너의 형제들 중에 속하든지, 너의 성문들 안의 네 지역 가운데 있는 너의 타국인들에 속하든지 간에 그리하지 말지니라.

14 ¶ Thou shalt not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy strangers that are in thy land within thy gates:

15 그의 날에 너는 그에게 그의 임금을 줄지니, 그것을 지닌 채 해가 지게 하지도 말지니라. 이는 그가 가난하여 그의 마음을 그 위에 두기 때문이니, 그가 너를 대적하여 주께 부르짖지 않게 하고 그것이 너에게 죄가 되지 않게 하라.

15 At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin unto thee.

16 자녀들로 인하여 아버지들을 사형에 처하지 말며, 아버지들로 인하여 자녀들도 사형에 처하지 말지니라. 모든 사람마다 자기 자신의 죄로 인하여 사형에 처해질지니라.

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

17 ¶ 너는 타국인의 재판을 왜곡하지 말며, 아버지 없는 자의 재판도 왜곡하지 말고, 과부의 의상도 담보로 취하지 말지니라.

17 ¶ Thou shalt not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge:

18 다만 너는 네가 이집트에서 노예였던 것과 주 너의 하나님께서 너를 거기서 구속하셨다는 것을 기억할지니라. 그러므로 내가 너에게 이것을 행하라고 명령하느니라.

18 But thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing.

19 ¶ 네가 너의 밭에서 너의 수확물을 베어 냈는데 밭에서 곡식 단 하나를 잊어버렸다면, 너는 그것을 집어 오려고 다시 가지 말지니라. 그것은 타국인을 위한 것이 될 것이요, 아버지 없는 자를 위한 것이 될 것이며, 과부를 위한 것이 될 것이라. 이는 주 너의 하나님께서 너의 두 손이 하는 모든 작업에 있어서 너에게 복을 주시도록 하려 함이라.

19 ¶ When thou cuttest down thine harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all the work of thine hands.

20 네가 너의 올리브나무를 떨 때 너는 원가지들을 다시 점검하지 말지니라. 그것은 타국인을 위한 것이 될 것이요, 아버지 없는 자를 위한 것이 될 것이며, 과부를 위한 것이 될 것이라.

20 When thou beatest thine olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

21 네가 너의 포도원의 포도들을 거둘 때면, 너는 그 후에 남은 것을 줍지 말지니라. 그것은 타국인을 위한 것이 될 것이요. 아버지 없는 자를 위한 것이 될 것이며, 과부를 위한 것이 될 것이라.

21 When thou gatherest the grapes of thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.

22 그런즉 너는 네가 이집트 지역 가운데서 노예였던 것을 기억할지니라. 그러므로 내가 너에게 이것을 행하라고 명령하느니라.

22 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing.
