신명기 31장

1 그리고 모세가 가서 온 이스라엘에게 이 말씀들을 전하였더라.

1 And Moses went and spake these words unto all Israel.

2 그런즉 그가 그들에게 이같이 말하였느니라. “나는 이날로 일백이십 세라. 나는 더 이상 나가고 들어올 수 없노라. 주께서도 나에게 말씀하시기를, ‘너는 이 요르단을 건너가지 못하리라.’ 하셨느니라.

2 And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

3 주 너의 하나님 그분께서 너의 앞에 건너가실 것이요, 그분께서 이 민족들을 너의 앞에서 멸하시리니, 너는 그들을 차지할지니라. 그리하여 주께서 말씀하신 대로 여호수아, 그가 너의 앞에서 건너가리라.

3 The LORD thy God, he will go over before thee, and he will destroy these nations from before thee, and thou shalt possess them: and Joshua, he shall go over before thee, as the LORD hath said.

4 그런즉 그분께서 자신이 멸하신 아모리족들의 왕들인 시혼에게와 옥에게 행하신 것같이 또 그들의 지역에 행하신 것같이 주께서 그들에게도 행하시리라.

4 And the LORD shall do unto them as he did to Sihon and to Og, kings of the Amorites, and unto the land of them, whom he destroyed.

5 그리고 주께서 그들을 너희의 얼굴 앞에 넘겨주시리니, 내가 너희에게 명령한 모든 명령들대로 너희가 그들에게 실행하게 하려 함이라.

5 And the LORD shall give them up before your face, that ye may do unto them according unto all the commandments which I have commanded you.

6 강건하고 훌륭한 용기를 내라. 두려워하지 말고, 그들을 무서워하지도 말라. 이는 주 너의 하나님, 그분께서는 너와 함께 가는 분이시기 때문이라. 그분께서는 너를 단념하지도 아니하시고 너를 저버리지도 아니하시리라.”

6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

7 ¶ 이어서 모세가 여호수아를 불렀으니, 온 이스라엘의 목전에서 그에게 이같이 말하였더라. “강건하고 훌륭한 용기를 내라. 이는 네가 주께서 그들에게 주시기로 그들의 조상들에게 맹세하신 그 지역으로 반드시 이 백성과 함께 가야 하기 때문이라. 그런즉 너는 그들로 하여금 그곳을 상속하게 할지니라.

7 ¶ And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it.

8 그리고 주, 그분께서는 너의 앞에 가는 분이시니, 그분께서 너와 함께하실 것이요, 그분께서는 너를 단념하지도 아니하시고 너를 저버리지도 아니하시리라. 두려워하지 말고 좌절하지도 말라.”

8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

9 ¶ 그리고 모세가 이 율법을 기록하여 그것을 주의 언약궤를 짊어지는 레위의 아들들인 제사장들에게와 이스라엘의 모든 장로들에게 넘겨주었더라.

9 ¶ And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.

10 그러면서 모세가 그들에게 명령하며 이같이 말하였더라. “매 칠 년의 끝, 면제의 해의 엄숙한 때인 장막절에

10 And Moses commanded them, saying, At the end of every seven years, in the solemnity of the year of release, in the feast of tabernacles,

11 그분께서 선택하실 곳 안에서 온 이스라엘이 주 너의 하나님 앞에 모습을 드러내려고 오는 때, 너는 온 이스라엘 앞에 그들이 듣는 데서 이 율법을 낭독할지니라.

11 When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.

12 백성들을 한데 모으되, 남자들과 여자들과 아이들과 너의 성문들 안에 있는 너의 타국인들을 모으라. 이는 그들이 듣게 하려 함이요, 또 그들이 배워서 주 너희 하나님을 두려워하고 이 율법의 모든 말씀들을 준수하여 행하게 하려 함이요,

12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:

13 너희가 그곳을 차지하려고 요르단을 건너가는 그 지역 가운데서 너희가 사는 동안, 아무것도 모르는 그들의 자녀들이 듣고 주 너희 하나님을 두려워하는 것을 배우게 하려 함이라.”

13 And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

14 ¶ 그런 다음에 주께서 모세에게 말씀하시기를, “보라, 네가 반드시 죽어야만 하는 너의 날들이 다가오고 있느니라. 여호수아를 부르라. 그리고 회중의 성막 안에서 너희 자신들을 제시하라. 이는 내가 그에게 책무를 주려 함이라.” 하셨느니라. 그리하여 모세와 여호수아가 가서 회중의 성막 안에서 그들 자신을 제시하였더라.

14 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thy days approach that thou must die: call Joshua, and present yourselves in the tabernacle of the congregation, that I may give him a charge. And Moses and Joshua went, and presented themselves in the tabernacle of the congregation.

15 그러자 주께서 구름 기둥 가운데서 성막 안에 나타나셨더라. 그리고 그 구름 기둥은 성막 문 위에 섰더라.

15 And the LORD appeared in the tabernacle in a pillar of a cloud: and the pillar of the cloud stood over the door of the tabernacle.

16 ¶ 이윽고 주께서 모세에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “보라, 너는 너의 조상들과 함께 잠들리라. 그리하면 이 백성은 들고일어나서 자신들이 그들 가운데 있으려고 가는 그 지역에 속한 타국인들의 신들을 좇아 행음하러 다닐 것이요, 나를 저버리고 내가 그들과 맺은 나의 언약을 파기할 것이라.

16 ¶ And the LORD said unto Moses, Behold, thou shalt sleep with thy fathers; and this people will rise up, and go a whoring after the gods of the strangers of the land, whither they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

17 그때 나의 분노가 그날에 그들을 대적하여 타오를 것이라. 그리고 나는 그들을 저버리겠으며, 나는 그들에게서 내 얼굴을 숨기겠으니, 그들은 집어삼켜지겠고 많은 악들과 곤경들이 그들에게 닥치리라. 그렇게 되면 그들은 그날에 말하기를, ‘우리 하나님께서 우리 가운데 계시지 아니한 까닭에 우리 위에 이 악들이 임하지 아니하였느냐?’ 하리라.

17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Are not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us?

18 그리하면 그들이 다른 신들에게로 돌이킴으로써 그들이 초래할 모든 악들로 인하여 내가 그날에 반드시 내 얼굴을 숨기겠노라.

18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

19 그러므로 이제 너희는 너희를 위하여 이 노래를 기록하고, 이스라엘 자녀들에게 그것을 가르치라. 그들의 입안에 이 노래를 둘지니, 이 노래가 이스라엘 자녀들을 대적하여 나를 위한 하나의 증거가 되게 하려 함이라.

19 Now therefore write ye this song for you, and teach it the children of Israel: put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for me against the children of Israel.

20 이는 내가 그들의 조상들에게 맹세했던, 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 지역 가운데로 내가 그들을 데려오고 나서 그들이 먹고 자신들의 배를 채워 살찔 때면, 그때 그들은 다른 신들에게로 돌이키고 그들을 섬기며 나를 격분시키고 나의 언약을 파기할 것이기 때문이라.

20 For when I shall have brought them into the land which I sware unto their fathers, that floweth with milk and honey; and they shall have eaten and filled themselves, and waxen fat; then will they turn unto other gods, and serve them, and provoke me, and break my covenant.

21 그리하면 많은 악들과 곤경들이 그들에게 닥칠 때 이러한 일이 있으리니, 이 노래가 하나의 증거로서 그들을 대적하여 증언할 것이라. 이는 그것이 그들의 씨의 입에서 잊히지 아니할 것이기 때문이니, 내가 친히 맹세한 지역 가운데로 그들을 데려가기 전인 바로 지금도 나는 그들이 하려고 하는 그들의 상상을 알고 있기 때문이라.”

21 And it shall come to pass, when many evils and troubles are befallen them, that this song shall testify against them as a witness; for it shall not be forgotten out of the mouths of their seed: for I know their imagination which they go about, even now, before I have brought them into the land which I sware.

22 ¶ 그러므로 모세가 바로 그날 이 노래를 기록하였고 그것을 이스라엘 자녀들에게 가르쳤느니라.

22 ¶ Moses therefore wrote this song the same day, and taught it the children of Israel.

23 그리고 그분께서 눈의 아들 여호수아에게 책무를 주시어 말씀하시기를, “강건하고 훌륭한 용기를 내라. 이는 네가 이스라엘 자녀들을 내가 그들에게 맹세한 지역으로 데려갈 것이기 때문이라. 그런즉 내가 너와 함께 있겠노라.” 하셨느니라.

23 And he gave Joshua the son of Nun a charge, and said, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou shalt bring the children of Israel into the land which I sware unto them: and I will be with thee.

24 ¶ 이후에 모세가 한 권의 책 안에 이 율법의 말씀들을 기록하는 것을 끝마치고 마침내 그것들이 마무리되었을 때 이러한 일이 있었으니,

24 ¶ And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished,

25 모세가 주의 언약궤를 짊어지는 레위인들에게 명령하며 이같이 말하였더라.

25 That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying,

26 “이 율법 책을 취하여 그것을 주 너희 하나님의 언약궤 옆에 둘지니, 그것이 너를 대적하는 하나의 증거로 거기에 있게 하려 함이라.

26 Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

27 이는 내가 너의 반역과 너의 뻣뻣한 고개를 알기 때문이라. 보라, 이날에 내가 아직 너희와 함께 살아 있는 동안에도 너희가 주를 대적하여 반역해 왔노라. 그런데 나의 죽음 이후에는 얼마나 더하겠느냐?

27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

28 ¶ 너희 지파들의 모든 장로들과 너희의 관원들을 나에게로 모으라. 이는 내가 이 말씀들을 그들의 귀에 전하며 하늘과 땅을 불러 그들을 대적하여 기록을 남기려 함이라.

28 ¶ Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them.

29 이는 나의 죽음 이후에 너희가 스스로 아주 부패하여 내가 너희에게 명령한 그 길에서 벗어날 것을 내가 알기 때문이라. 그런즉 마지막에 가까운 날들에 악이 너희에게 닥치리라. 이는 너희가 주의 목전에 악을 행하고 너희 손에서 나온 작업물로 그분을 분노하게 할 것이기 때문이라.”

29 For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands.

30 그리하여 모세가 이스라엘의 온 회중의 귀에 이 노랫말들이 끝날 때까지 그것들을 전하였더라.

30 And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.
