신명기 6장

1 이제 이것들이 주 너희 하나님께서 너희에게 가르치라고 명령하신 명령들과 규례들과 공의로운 법규들이니, 너희가 그곳을 차지하러 가는 그 지역 가운데서 너희가 그것들을 실행하게 하려 함이라.

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:

2 이는 너로 하여금 주 너의 하나님을 두려워하게 하려 함이요, 내가 너에게, 곧 너와 너의 아들과 너의 아들의 아들에게 명령하는 그분의 규례들과 그분의 명령들을 너의 생애의 모든 날들 동안 모두 지키게 하려 함이요, 너의 날들이 연장되게 하려 함이라.

2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son's son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

3 ¶ 그러므로 오, 이스라엘아, 들으라. 그리고 그것을 준수하여 행하라. 이는 네가 잘되게 하려 함이요, 너희 조상들의 주 하나님께서 너에게 약속하신 대로 젖과 꿀이 흐르는 그 지역 가운데서 너희가 매우 힘 있게 융성하게 하려 함이라.

3 ¶ Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

4 오, 이스라엘아, 들으라. 주 우리 하나님께서는 유일하신 주로다.

4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

5 그런즉 너는 너의 마음을 다하고, 너의 혼을 다하고, 너의 기운을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑할지니라.

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

6 그리고 이날에 내가 너에게 명령하는 이 말씀들을 너의 마음속에 있게 할지니라.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:

7 그리고 너는 그 말씀들을 너의 자식들에게 부지런히 가르칠지니, 네가 너의 집에 앉아 있을 때와 네가 길을 걸어갈 때와 네가 누울 때와 네가 일어날 때, 너는 그 말씀들에 관하여 말할지니라.

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

8 그리고 너는 그 말씀들을 너의 손 위에 표적으로 묶을지니, 그 말씀들이 너의 두 눈 사이에서 이마의 표식들처럼 되게 할지니라.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

9 그리고 너는 그 말씀들을 너의 집의 버팀기둥들 위와 너의 대문들 위에 기록할지니라.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

10 그리하면 이러한 일이 일어나리니, 주 너의 하나님께서 너의 조상들에게, 곧 아브라함에게와 이삭에게와 야곱에게 맹세하신 그 지역 가운데로 친히 너를 데리고 들어가시어 네가 건축하지 아니한, 거대하고 훌륭한 도시들을 너에게 주실 때,

10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,

11 또 네가 채우지 아니한, 모든 좋은 것들이 가득한 집들과, 네가 파지 아니하였는데도 파여 있는 우물들과, 네가 세우지 아니한 포도원들과 올리브나무들을 주실 때, 네가 먹고 배부르리라.

11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

12 그때 너는 주를 잊지 않도록 주의하라. 그분께서는 이집트 지역에서, 곧 속박의 집에서 너를 데리고 나오셨느니라.

12 Then beware lest thou forget the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

13 너는 주 너의 하나님을 두려워하고 그분을 섬길지니, 그분의 이름으로 맹세할지니라.

13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

14 너희는 너희 주변에 있는 백성의 신들에 속하는 다른 신들을 좇아가지 말지니라.

14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are round about you;

15 (이는 주 너의 하나님께서는 너희 가운데서 질투하시는 한 하나님이시기 때문이라.) 주 너의 하나님의 분노가 너를 대적하여 타오르시지 않게 하고, 땅의 표면에서 너를 멸하시지 않게 하라.

15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

16 ¶ 너희가 맛사에서 그분을 시험한 것같이 너희는 주 너희 하나님을 시험하지 말지니라.

16 ¶ Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

17 너희는 그분께서 너에게 명령하신 주 너희 하나님의 명령들과 그분의 증언들과 그분의 규례들을 부지런히 지킬지니라.

17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

18 그리하여 너는 주의 목전에서 의롭고 선한 것을 실행할지니라. 이는 네가 잘되게 하려 함이요, 주께서 너의 조상들에게 맹세하신 그 좋은 지역으로 네가 들어가서 그곳을 차지하게 하려 함이요,

18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,

19 주께서 이야기하신 대로 너의 앞에서 너의 모든 원수들을 쫓아내게 하려 함이라.

19 To cast out all thine enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

20 그리하여 미래에 너의 아들이 너에게 물으며 말하기를, ‘주 우리 하나님께서 당신들께 명령하신 증언들과 규례들과 공의로운 법규들이 무엇을 의미하나이까?’ 하면

20 And when thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

21 그때 너는 너의 아들에게 이같이 말할지니라. ‘우리는 이집트에서 파라오의 노예들이었느니라. 그런데 주께서 막강한 손으로 이집트에서 우리를 데리고 나오셨느니라.

21 Then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh's bondmen in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

22 그리고 주께서는 우리의 눈앞에서 위대하고도 심한 표적들과 이적들을 이집트 위와 파라오 위와 그의 모든 집안 위에 보이셨느니라.

22 And the LORD shewed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

23 그리하여 그분께서는 우리를 거기서 데리고 나오셨으니, 그분께서 친히 우리 조상들에게 맹세하신 그 지역을 우리에게 주시고자 우리를 데리고 들어가려 하심이라.

23 And he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.

24 그런즉 주께서는 항상 우리가 잘되게 하시려고 이 모든 규례들을 실행하고 주 우리 하나님을 두려워하라고 우리에게 명령하셨으니, 이날과 같이 우리가 살아 있도록 그분께서 우리를 보존하려 하심이라.

24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

25 그런즉 만일 그분께서 우리에게 명령하신 대로 우리가 주 우리 하나님 앞에서 이 모든 명령들을 준수하여 행한다면 그것이 우리의 의가 되리라.’

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.
