신명기 3장

1 그때 우리는 돌이켜서 바샨으로 향하는 길로 올라갔느니라. 그러자 바샨 왕 옥이 우리를 대적하여 나왔으니, 그와 그의 온 백성이 에드레이에서 전투를 치르려고 나왔느니라.

1 Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan: and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

2 그러자 주께서 나에게 말씀하시기를, ‘그를 두려워하지 말라. 이는 내가 그와, 그의 온 백성과, 그의 지역을 너의 손안에 넘겨줄 것이기 때문이라. 그런즉 네가 헤슈본에 거하던 아모리족들의 왕 시혼에게 행한 것과 같이 너는 그에게 행할지니라.’ 하셨느니라.

2 And the LORD said unto me, Fear him not: for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into thy hand; and thou shalt do unto him as thou didst unto Sihon king of the Amorites, which dwelt at Heshbon.

3 그렇게 하여 주 우리 하나님께서는 바샨 왕 옥과 그의 온 백성도 우리의 손안에 넘겨주셨느니라. 그리하여 그에게 남아 있는 자가 아무도 없을 때까지 우리가 그를 쳤도다.

3 So the LORD our God delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people: and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.

4 그런즉 그때에 우리가 그의 모든 도시들을 점령하였으며, 우리가 그들에게서 취하지 않은 도시는 하나도 없었으니, 아르곱의 모든 지역, 곧 바샨에 있는 옥의 왕국의 도시들 육십 개였느니라.

4 And we took all his cities at that time, there was not a city which we took not from them, threescore cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

5 이 모든 도시들은 높은 성벽들과 성문들과 가로대들로 방비가 강화되었더라. 이외에도 성벽이 둘려 있지 않은 마을들이 대단히 많았느니라.

5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.

6 그런 다음에 우리가 헤슈본 왕 시혼에게 행했던 것같이 우리는 그들을 모조리 멸하였으니, 모든 도시에서 저마다 남자들과 여자들과 아이들을 모조리 멸하였도다.

6 And we utterly destroyed them, as we did unto Sihon king of Heshbon, utterly destroying the men, women, and children, of every city.

7 그러나 모든 가축들과 그 도시들의 노획물은 우리 자신을 위한 전리품으로 우리가 취하였느니라.

7 But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

8 그리고 그때에 우리는 아모리족들의 두 왕들의 손에서 요르단 이편에 있는 지역을 빼앗았으니, 아르논강에서부터 헤르몬산까지요,

8 And we took at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon unto mount Hermon;

9 (시돈인들이 그 헤르몬을 시리온이라 부르는데, 아모리족들은 그것을 셰닐이라 부르느니라.)

9 (Which Hermon the Sidonians call Sirion; and the Amorites call it Shenir;)

10 평야의 모든 도시들과 길르앗 전체와 바샨 전체요, 바샨에 있는 옥의 왕국의 도시들인 살르카와 에드레이까지니라.

10 All the cities of the plain, and all Gilead, and all Bashan, unto Salchah and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

11 이는 거인들의 남은 자들 중에 오직 바샨 왕 옥만이 남았기 때문이라. 보라, 그의 침대 틀은 철로 된 침대 틀이었도다. 그것이 암몬의 후손들에 속하는 랍밧에 있지 아니하냐? 그것의 길이는 구 큐빗이요, 그것의 너비는 한 사람의 큐빗을 따라 사 큐빗이었느니라.

11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants; behold, his bedstead was a bedstead of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? nine cubits was the length thereof, and four cubits the breadth of it, after the cubit of a man.

12 그런 다음에 우리가 그때에 차지했던 이 지역, 곧 아르논 강가에 있는 아로엘에서 길르앗산의 절반과 그곳의 도시들을 내가 르우벤족들과 갓족들에게 주었도다.

12 And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

13 그리고 옥의 왕국인 길르앗의 나머지와 바샨 전체를 내가 므낫세 반 지파에게 주었노라. 곧, 바샨 전체와 더불어 아르곱의 구역 전체니, 그곳들은 거인들의 지역이라 불렸느니라.

13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.

14 므낫세의 아들인 야일이 그슐인과 마아캇인의 국경들까지 이르는 아르곱의 모든 지방을 취하였는데 자기 자신의 이름을 따라 그것들을 바샨하봇야일이라 불렀으니, 오늘날까지 이르니라.

14 Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, unto this day.

15 그리고 내가 길르앗을 마킬에게 주었느니라.

15 And I gave Gilead unto Machir.

16 또 르우벤족들에게와 갓족들에게는 내가 길르앗부터 골짜기 절반인 아르논강과 그 경계에 이르기까지, 곧 얍복강까지 주었으니, 얍복강은 암몬의 후손들의 경계니라.

16 And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok, which is the border of the children of Ammon;

17 그 평야도 주었으며, 요르단과 그곳의 연안을 주었으니, 킨네렛에서 평야의 바다에 이르기까지, 곧 동쪽의 아슈도드피스가 아래에 있는 염해까지 주었느니라.

17 The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast thereof, from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward.

18 ¶ 그러고 나서 그때에 내가 너희에게 명령하며 이같이 말하였느니라. ‘주 너희 하나님께서 이 지역을 차지하라고 그것을 너희에게 주셨느니라. 너희는 무장되어 있는 채로 너희 형제들인 이스라엘 자녀들보다 앞서 넘어갈지니, 곧 전쟁에 적합한 모든 자들이라.

18 ¶ And I commanded you at that time, saying, The LORD your God hath given you this land to possess it: ye shall pass over armed before your brethren the children of Israel, all that are meet for the war.

19 그러나 너희의 아내들과 너희의 어린것들과 너희의 가축들은 (이는 너희가 많은 가축들을 보유한 것을 내가 알기 때문이니,) 내가 너희에게 준 너희의 도시들 안에 거할지니라.

19 But your wives, and your little ones, and your cattle, (for I know that ye have much cattle,) shall abide in your cities which I have given you;

20 주께서 너희에게 주신 것처럼 너희의 형제들에게 안식을 주실 때까지, 그들도 주 너희 하나님께서 그들에게 주신 요르단 너머의 그 지역을 차지하기까지 그리하라. 그러고 난 다음에 너희 각인은 내가 너희에게 준 자기 소유로 되돌아갈지니라.’

20 Until the LORD have given rest unto your brethren, as well as unto you, and until they also possess the land which the LORD your God hath given them beyond Jordan: and then shall ye return every man unto his possession, which I have given you.

21 ¶ 그리고 그때에 내가 여호수아에게 명령하여 이같이 말하였느니라. ‘주 너희 하나님께서 이들 두 왕에게 행하신 모든 일을 너의 두 눈이 보았느니라. 주께서는 네가 지나가는 모든 왕국들에게도 이와 같이 행하시리라.

21 ¶ And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, Thine eyes have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto these two kings: so shall the LORD do unto all the kingdoms whither thou passest.

22 너희는 그들을 두려워하지 말라. 이는 주 너희 하나님, 그분께서 너희를 위하여 싸우실 것이기 때문이라.’

22 Ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you.

23 그러고 나서 그때에 내가 주께 간청하며 이같이 말씀드렸느니라.

23 And I besought the LORD at that time, saying,

24 ‘오, 주 하나님이여, 당신께서는 당신의 위대하심과 당신의 막강한 손을 당신의 종에게 보여 주기 시작하셨나이다. 그러므로 하늘에서나 땅에서나 어느 신이 당신의 역사들에 따라, 또 당신의 막강하심에 따라 행할 수 있나이까?

24 O Lord GOD, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy greatness, and thy mighty hand: for what God is there in heaven or in earth, that can do according to thy works, and according to thy might?

25 제가 당신께 간구하오니, 제가 건너가서 요르단 너머에 있는 그 좋은 지역과 저 좋은 산과 레바논을 보도록 허락하옵소서.’

25 I pray thee, let me go over, and see the good land that is beyond Jordan, that goodly mountain, and Lebanon.

26 그러나 주께서는 너희로 인하여 나에게 진노하셨으니, 내 말을 들으려 하지 아니하셨도다. 그런즉 주께서 나에게 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. ‘그것이 너에게 충분하니라. 이 사안을 더 이상 내게 이야기하지 말라.

26 But the LORD was wroth with me for your sakes, and would not hear me: and the LORD said unto me, Let it suffice thee; speak no more unto me of this matter.

27 너는 피스가 꼭대기에 올라가 너의 두 눈을 서쪽과 북쪽과 남쪽과 동쪽으로 들어 올리고 그 지역을 너의 두 눈으로 보라. 이는 네가 이 요르단을 건너가지 못할 것이기 때문이라.

27 Get thee up into the top of Pisgah, and lift up thine eyes westward, and northward, and southward, and eastward, and behold it with thine eyes: for thou shalt not go over this Jordan.

28 다만 여호수아에게 명하고 그에게 용기를 주며 그에게 힘을 주라. 이는 그가 이 백성 앞에 건너갈 것이요, 그가 그들로 하여금 네가 볼 그 지역을 상속하게 할 것이기 때문이라.’

28 But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see.

29 그렇게 하여 우리가 벧프올 맞은편 골짜기에 거하였느니라.

29 So we abode in the valley over against Bethpeor.
