이사야서 18장

1 에티오피아의 강들 너머에 있는, 날개들로 그림자를 드리우는 지역에 화가 있기를 바라노라.

1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

2 그곳이 바다를 통하여, 곧 물들 위에 파피루스들로 된 선함들로 대사들을 보내며 말하기를, “너희, 빠른 전령들아, 흩어지고 벗겨진 민족에게 가라. 그들의 시작부터 지금까지 공포스러운 백성에게로 가라. 벌받고 짓밟힌 민족이니, 강들이 그들의 지역을 망쳐 놓은 민족에게라!” 하는도다.

2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

3 너희, 세상의 모든 거주자들과 땅 위의 거주민들아, 그분께서 산들 위에 기치를 들어 올리시는 때에 너희는 보라. 또 그분께서 나팔을 부실 때에 너희는 들으라.

3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

4 이는 주께서 나에게 이렇게 말씀하셨기 때문이라. “내가 나의 휴식을 취하겠으니, 풀잎들 위의 청명한 열기처럼, 또 수확기의 열기 속에 있는 이슬 구름처럼 내가 나의 거주지 안에서 숙고하겠노라.

4 For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

5 이는 수확기가 되기 전, 봉오리가 완전하고 신 포도가 꽃 가운데서 익어가고 있는 때에, 그분께서 가지치는 낫들로 싹들을 베어 내실 것이요, 가지들을 제거하고 베어 쓰러뜨리실 것이기 때문이라.

5 For afore the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

6 그것들이 모두 산들의 날짐승들에게와 땅의 짐승들에게 함께 남겨지리라. 그리하면 날짐승들이 그것들로 여름을 날 것이요, 땅의 모든 짐승들이 그것들로 겨울을 나리라.”

6 They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

7 ¶ 그때에 흩어지고 벗겨진 백성들로부터 만군의 주께 헌물이 전달되리니, 곧 그들의 시작부터 지금까지 공포스러운 백성으로부터 온 것이라. 즉, 벌받고 짓밟힌 민족이요, 강들이 그들의 지역을 망쳐 놓은 민족이 만군의 주의 이름의 처소인 시온산으로 그것을 가져오리라.

7 ¶ In that time shall the present be brought unto the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and peeled, and from a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
