이사야서 29장

1 아리엘에게, 아리엘에게, 다윗이 거하던 그 도시에 화가 있기를 바라노라! 너희는 해에 해를 더하라. 그들로 하여금 희생 제물들을 잡게 하라.

1 Woe to Ariel, to Ariel, the city where David dwelt! add ye year to year; let them kill sacrifices.

2 그럼에도 나는 아리엘을 괴롭게 하겠으니, 거기에 수심과 슬픔이 있으리라. 또한 그것이 나에게 아리엘 같으리라.

2 Yet I will distress Ariel, and there shall be heaviness and sorrow: and it shall be unto me as Ariel.

3 그리하여 내가 너를 대적하여 주위에 진을 치겠고, 내가 너를 대적하여 산으로 포위하겠으며, 내가 너를 대적하여 보루들을 일으키겠노라.

3 And I will camp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with a mount, and I will raise forts against thee.

4 그리하면 너는 끌어내려지리니, 땅바닥에서 말할 것이요, 네가 하는 말은 티끌 속에서 나와 낮아질 것이요, 너의 목소리는 마치 땅바닥에서 나온 한 부리는 영을 지닌 자 같을 것이요, 네가 하는 말은 티끌 속에서 나와 속삭이리라.

4 And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust, and thy voice shall be, as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust.

5 이뿐만 아니라 너에게 있는 타국인들의 무리는 작은 티끌처럼 될 것이요, 공포스러운 이들의 무리는 사라져 버리는 쭉정이같이 되리라. 진정 그 일이 순식간에 갑작스럽게 일어나리라.

5 Moreover the multitude of thy strangers shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones shall be as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be at an instant suddenly.

6 너는 만군의 주께 벌을 받으리니, 천둥으로, 지진으로, 엄청난 소음으로, 폭풍과 광풍과 집어삼키는 불의 화염으로 벌을 받으리라.

6 Thou shalt be visited of the LORD of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with storm and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.

7 ¶ 그리고 아리엘을 대적하여 싸우는 모든 민족들의 무리, 곧 그녀와 그녀의 방어 시설을 대적하여 싸우는 모든 자들과 그녀를 괴롭게 하는 모든 자들은 밤의 현시의 꿈같이 되리라.

7 ¶ And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her munition, and that distress her, shall be as a dream of a night vision.

8 그것은 심지어 배고픈 사람이 꿈꿀 때와 같으리니, 보라, 그가 먹기는 하나 그가 깨어나면 그의 혼이 허전하도다. 또는 그것이 목마른 사람이 꿈꿀 때와 같으리니, 보라, 그가 마시기는 하나 그가 깨어나면, 보라, 그가 탈진하나니, 그의 혼이 갈급해 하는도다. 시온산을 대적하여 싸우는 모든 민족들의 무리가 그러하리라.

8 It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion.

9 ¶ 너희 스스로 멈추고 기이히 여기라. 너희는 부르짖고 또 외치라. 그들이 취하나 포도주에 의한 것이 아니로다. 그들이 휘청거리나 독주에 의한 것이 아니로다.

9 ¶ Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.

10 이는 주께서 깊은 잠의 영을 너희 위에 쏟아부으셨고 너희의 눈을 감기셨기 때문이라. 그분께서 예언자들과 너희의 치리자들과 선견자들의 눈을 덮으셨느니라.

10 For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.

11 그리하여 모든 자들의 현시가 너희에게 마치 봉인된 책의 말씀들같이 되니, 사람들이 그것을 학식 있는 자에게 건네며 말하기를 “내가 그대에게 간구하노니, 이것을 읽으라.” 하면, 그가 말하기를, “나는 읽을 수 없노라. 이는 그것이 봉인되어 있기 때문이라.” 하는도다.

11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:

12 또 무식한 자에게도 이와 같은 말로 그 책이 건네지나니, “내가 그대에게 간구하노니, 이것을 읽으라.” 하는데 그가 말하기를, “나는 학식이 없노라.” 하는도다.

12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

13 ¶ 이러한 이유로 주께서 이같이 말씀하셨느니라. “이 백성이 그들의 입으로는 나를 가까이하고, 그들의 입술로는 나를 공경하나, 그들의 마음은 나에게서 멀리 떠났고, 나를 향한 그들의 두려움은 사람들의 규범에 의하여 가르쳐진 것이로다.

13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

14 그러므로 보라, 내가 이 백성 가운데서 경탄스러운 일을 추진하겠나니, 곧 경탄스러운 일과 이적이라. 이는 그들의 지혜로운 사람들의 지혜가 사라질 것이요, 그들의 신중한 사람들의 명철이 숨겨질 것이기 때문이라.”

14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

15 자신들의 계획을 주로부터 숨기려고 깊숙한 곳을 찾는 자들에게 화가 있기를 바라노니, 그들의 일들이 어둠 가운데 있으므로 그들이 말하기를, “누가 우리를 보느냐? 또 누가 우리를 아느냐?” 하는도다.

15 Woe unto them that seek deep to hide their counsel from the LORD, and their works are in the dark, and they say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us?

16 확실히 너희가 일들을 뒤엎는 것은 토기장이의 진흙같이 여겨지리라. 그런즉 지음받은 것이 그것을 만든 이에 관하여 말하기를, “그는 나를 만들지 아니하였도다.” 하랴? 또는 형성된 것이 그것을 형성한 자에 관하여 말하기를, “그는 명철이 없도다.” 하랴?

16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding?

17 앞으로 아주 잠깐 있다가 이후에는 레바논이 열매로 가득한 밭으로 변화되지 않겠느냐? 또 그 열매로 가득한 밭은 숲으로 여겨지지 아니하겠느냐?

17 Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest?

18 ¶ 또한 그날에 귀먹은 자들이 그 책의 말씀들을 들을 것이요, 눈먼 자들의 눈이 암담함에서 벗어나고, 어둠에서 벗어나 보게 되리라.

18 ¶ And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness.

19 온유한 자들도 주 안에서 그들의 즐거움을 늘릴 것이요, 사람들 가운데서 가난한 자들도 이스라엘의 거룩한 이를 크게 기뻐하리라.

19 The meek also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

20 이는 공포스러운 이가 없어져 버리고 경멸하는 자가 파멸하며 죄악을 노리고 지켜보는 자들 모두가 끊어지기 때문이라.

20 For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scorner is consumed, and all that watch for iniquity are cut off:

21 그들은 한 마디로 사람을 범죄자로 만드나니, 성문 안에서 책망하는 자를 노리고 올무를 놓으며, 무가치한 것으로 인하여 의인들을 제쳐 놓느니라.

21 That make a man an offender for a word, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just for a thing of nought.

22 그러므로 아브라함을 구속한 주가 야곱의 집과 관련하여 이같이 말하노라. 이제 야곱은 부끄러워하지 아니할 것이요, 또한 이제 그의 얼굴도 창백해지지 아니하리라.

22 Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.

23 그러나 그가 그의 자녀들을 볼 때, 즉 나의 두 손이 지은 것을 그의 한가운데서 볼 때 그들은 나의 이름을 거룩하게 구별할 것이요, 야곱의 거룩한 이를 거룩하게 구별할 것이며, 이스라엘의 하나님을 두려워하리라.

23 But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

24 영 안에서 잘못을 범한 자들도 명철에 이를 것이요, 불평하던 자들도 교리를 배우리라.

24 They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
