이사야서 34장

1 너희, 민족들아, 가까이 나아와서 들으라. 너희, 백성들아, 경청하라. 땅과 그 안에 있는 모든 것은 들을지어다. 세상과 세상에서 나오는 모든 것들은 들을지어다.

1 Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

2 이는 주의 격분이 모든 민족들 위에 임하셨고, 그분의 노여움이 그들의 모든 군사들 위에 임하셨기 때문이라. 그분께서 그들을 모조리 멸하셨고, 그분께서 그들을 살육으로 넘기셨도다.

2 For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter.

3 또한 그들의 살해당한 자들이 내던져지리니, 그들의 악취가 그들의 사체들에서 피어오르고 산들은 그들의 피에 녹으리라.

3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood.

4 그리고 하늘의 모든 군대가 해체될 것이요, 하늘들은 두루마리같이 함께 말리리라. 그리고 하늘들의 모든 군대가 마치 포도나무에서 잎사귀가 떨어져 나가는 것과 같이, 무화과나무에서 떨어지는 무화과같이 떨어지리라.

4 And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree.

5 이는 나의 칼이 하늘에서 흠뻑 적셔질 것이기 때문이라. 보라, 그것이 심판을 위하여 이두메아 위와 나의 저주의 백성 위에 떨어지리라.

5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment.

6 주의 칼이 피로 채워지리라. 그것이 기름진 것으로, 어린양들과 염소들의 피로, 숫양들의 콩팥들의 지방으로 기름지게 되리라. 이는 주께서 보즈라에서 희생 제물을 얻으시고 이두메아 지역 가운데 커다란 살육을 행하셨기 때문이라.

6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD hath a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Idumea.

7 그리고 유니콘들이 그들과 함께 내려오리니, 수송아지들도 수소들과 함께 내려오리라. 또 그들의 지역은 피에 잠기리니, 그들의 진토는 기름진 것으로 기름지게 되리라.

7 And the unicorns shall come down with them, and the bullocks with the bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness.

8 이는 그날이 주의 복수의 날이자 시온의 논란에 대한 되갚음들을 하시는 해이기 때문이라.

8 For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.

9 그런즉 그곳의 개울들은 역청으로 변할 것이요, 그곳의 진토는 유황으로 변할 것이요, 그곳의 토지는 불타는 역청으로 변하리라.

9 And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.

10 밤이나 낮이나 그것이 꺼지지 아니하리니, 그것의 연기는 영원토록 올라가리라. 그곳은 대대로 황폐하게 되리니, 영원무궁토록 그곳을 통과하는 자가 아무도 없으리라.

10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; the smoke thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.

11 ¶ 그러나 가마우지와 해오라기가 그곳을 차지하리라. 또한 올빼미와 까마귀가 그 안에 거하리라. 그리고 그가 그 위에 혼란의 측량줄과 공허의 돌들을 드리우리라.

11 ¶ But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.

12 그들이 그곳의 귀족들을 왕국으로 부를 것이나 거기에 아무도 없을 것이요, 그녀의 모든 통치자들이 아무것도 아니게 되리라.

12 They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all her princes shall be nothing.

13 그리고 가시나무들이 그녀의 궁전들 안에서 올라올 것이요, 쐐기풀들과 가시떨기들도 그곳의 견고한 요새들 안에서 올라오리라. 또 그곳은 용들의 거처요, 올빼미들을 위한 뜰이 되리라.

13 And thorns shall come up in her palaces, nettles and brambles in the fortresses thereof: and it shall be an habitation of dragons, and a court for owls.

14 또한 사막의 야생 짐승들이 섬의 야생 짐승들과 조우할 것이요, 사티로스가 그의 동무에게 울부짖으리라. 가면올빼미도 거기에서 쉬고 그녀 자신을 위한 쉼터를 찾으리라.

14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest.

15 거기에서 커다란 올빼미가 그녀의 둥지를 틀고 알을 낳아 부화시켜 그녀의 그늘 아래로 모으리라. 거기에서 대머리수리들도 모두 저마다 그녀의 짝과 함께 모이리라.

15 There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate.

16 ¶ 너희는 주의 책에서 찾아 읽으라. 이것들 중 하나도 상실되지 아니하리니, 그녀의 짝이 부족한 것은 아무것도 없으리라. 이는 나의 입이 그것을 명령하였고, 그의 영이 그것들을 모았기 때문이라.

16 ¶ Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

17 그리고 그가 그것들을 위하여 제비를 던졌으니, 그의 손이 줄을 그어 그것을 그것들에게 나누어 주었도다. 그것들이 영원토록 그것을 차지할 것이요, 그것들이 대대로 그 안에 거하리라.

17 And he hath cast the lot for them, and his hand hath divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it for ever, from generation to generation shall they dwell therein.
