이사야서 43장

1 그러나 오, 야곱아, 너를 창조한 주가 이제 이같이 말하노라. 오, 이스라엘아, 너를 형성한 이가 말하노라. 두려워하지 말라. 이는 내가 너를 구속하였고 내가 너의 이름으로 너를 불렀기 때문이라. 너는 내 것이라.

1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

2 네가 물들을 통과할 때면 내가 너와 함께 있겠노라. 또 강들을 통과할 때면 그것들이 너를 넘쳐 흐르게 하지 않겠노라. 네가 불속을 거닐 때면 너는 타지 아니하리니, 불꽃이 네 위에서 타오르지도 아니하리라.

2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

3 이는 내가 주 너의 하나님이요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이요, 너의 구원자이기 때문이라. 내가 이집트를 너의 속량 값으로 주었으니, 너를 대신하여 에티오피아와 스바를 주었노라.

3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

4 너는 나의 목전에 귀하였나니, 너는 존귀하였으며, 나는 너를 사랑해 왔도다. 그러므로 내가 너를 대신하여 사람들을 주고, 너의 생명을 대신하여 백성들을 주겠노라.

4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

5 두려워하지 말라. 이는 내가 너와 함께하기 때문이라. 내가 동쪽으로부터 너의 씨를 데려오고, 서쪽으로부터 너를 모으리라.

5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;

6 내가 북쪽에게 “내놓으라.” 하고 말할 것이요, 남쪽에게 “저지하지 말라.” 하고 말하겠노라. 나의 아들들을 먼 곳에서, 나의 딸들을 땅 끝들에서 데려오라.

6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

7 곧, 나의 이름으로 불리는 모든 자마다 그리하라. 이는 내가 내 영광을 위하여 그를 창조하였고, 내가 그를 형성하였기 때문이라. 진정 내가 그를 만들었노라.

7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

8 ¶ 눈이 있어도 눈먼 자들이요, 귀가 있어도 귀먹은 자들인 백성을 나오게 하라.

8 ¶ Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

9 모든 민족들이 함께 모이게 하고, 백성들이 결집하게 하라. 그들 가운데서 누가 이 일을 선언하고 이전 것들을 우리에게 제시할 수 있겠느냐? 그들로 하여금 자신들의 증거들을 내놓아 스스로 정당함을 입증하게 하라. 또는 그들이 듣고 “그것이 진리라.” 하고 말하게 하라.

9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

10 주가 말하노라. 너희는 나의 증인들이요, 내가 선택한 나의 종이라. 이는 너희로 하여금 나를 알게 하고, 나를 믿게 하며, 나는 그라는 것을 이해하게 하려 함이라. 나 이전에 형성된 신은 전혀 없나니, 나 이후에도 없으리라.

10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

11 나, 곧 내가 주로다. 그런즉 나 외에는 구원자가 아무도 없느니라.

11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

12 너희 가운데 타국 신이 없었을 때 내가 선언하였고 구원하였으며, 내가 제시하였노라. 그러므로 너희는 내가 하나님이라는 것에 대한 나의 증인들이라. 주가 말하노라.

12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

13 진정 낮이 있기 전부터 나는 그니라. 그런즉 나의 손에서 구출해 낼 수 있는 자가 아무도 없도다. 내가 일하겠으니, 누가 그것을 막겠느냐?

13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

14 ¶ 너희의 구속주요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이인 주가 이같이 말하노라. 너희를 위하여 내가 바빌론으로 사람들을 보내어 그들의 모든 귀족들과 칼데아인들을 끌어내렸으니, 그들의 부르짖음이 선박들 안에 있도다.

14 ¶ Thus saith the LORD, your redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; For your sake I have sent to Babylon, and have brought down all their nobles, and the Chaldeans, whose cry is in the ships.

15 나는 주요, 너희의 거룩한 이요, 이스라엘의 창조주요, 너희의 왕이로다.

15 I am the LORD, your Holy One, the creator of Israel, your King.

16 주가 이같이 말하노라. 나는 바다 가운데 길을, 막강한 물들 가운데 행로를 만드노라.

16 Thus saith the LORD, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;

17 나는 병거와 말과 군사와 권세를 끌어내느니라. 그들이 함께 드러누우리니, 그들은 일어나지 못하리라. 그들은 생명이 끊어졌고, 그들은 삼 오라기같이 불에 타다 꺼졌도다.

17 Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow.

18 ¶ 너희는 이전 일들을 기억하지 말라. 또한 옛날 일들을 숙고하지도 말라.

18 ¶ Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.

19 보라, 내가 새로운 일을 행하겠노라. 이제 그것이 나타나리라. 너희가 그것을 모르겠느냐? 내가 심지어 광야 가운데서 길을 만들고 사막 가운데서 강들을 만들겠노라.

19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

20 들짐승이 나를 존경하리니, 곧 용들과 올빼미들이라. 이는 내가 광야 가운데서 물들을, 사막 가운데서 강들을 준 까닭이니, 나의 백성, 나의 선택받은 자들에게 주어 마시게 하려 함이라.

20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

21 이 백성은 내가 나 자신을 위하여 형성하였도다. 그들이 나의 찬송을 널리 알리리라.

21 This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.

22 ¶ 그러나 오, 야곱아, 너는 나를 부르지 아니하였도다. 오히려 오, 이스라엘아, 너는 나에게 싫증을 내었도다.

22 ¶ But thou hast not called upon me, O Jacob; but thou hast been weary of me, O Israel.

23 너는 너의 번제물들에 속하는 작은 가축들을 나에게 가져오지 아니하였도다. 너는 너의 희생 제물들로 나를 공경하지도 아니하였도다. 나는 너로 하여금 제물로 섬기게 하지 아니하였으며, 분향으로 너를 싫증 나게 하지도 아니하였도다.

23 Thou hast not brought me the small cattle of thy burnt offerings; neither hast thou honoured me with thy sacrifices. I have not caused thee to serve with an offering, nor wearied thee with incense.

24 너는 돈을 주고 나에게 석창포를 사 오지 아니하였고, 너는 너의 희생 제물들의 지방으로 나를 채우지도 아니하였도다. 오히려 너는 나로 하여금 너의 죄들로 섬기게 하였고, 너는 너의 죄악들로 나를 지치게 하였도다.

24 Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices: but thou hast made me to serve with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities.

25 나, 바로 나는 나 자신을 위하여 너의 죄악들을 지워 버리는 이니, 너의 죄들을 기억하지 아니하겠노라.

25 I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins.

26 나로 하여금 기억하게 하라. 우리가 함께 변론하자. 너는 네가 정당함을 입증받을 수 있도록 선언하라.

26 Put me in remembrance: let us plead together: declare thou, that thou mayest be justified.

27 너의 처음 조상이 죄를 지었고, 너의 선생들이 나를 대적하여 불법을 행하였도다.

27 Thy first father hath sinned, and thy teachers have transgressed against me.

28 그러므로 내가 성소의 통치자들을 속되게 하였고, 야곱을 저주에, 이스라엘을 치욕에 내주었도다.

28 Therefore I have profaned the princes of the sanctuary, and have given Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
