이사야서 57장

1 의로운 자가 멸망하여도 그것을 마음에 두는 사람이 없도다. 그리고 자비로운 사람들이 잡혀가도 의로운 자가 다가올 해악을 피하여 잡혀간 것을 숙고하는 자가 아무도 없도다.

1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

2 그는 화평 안으로 들어갈 것이요, 각자 자신의 올바름 가운데서 살아가는 자들은 자신들의 침상들 안에서 안식하리라.

2 He shall enter into peace: they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness.

3 ¶ 그러나 여마법사의 아들들과, 간음하는 자와 음녀의 씨인 너희여, 여기로 가까이 다가오라.

3 ¶ But draw near hither, ye sons of the sorceress, the seed of the adulterer and the whore.

4 너희가 누구를 대적하여 스스로 희롱하느냐? 너희가 누구를 대적하여 입을 크게 벌리고 혀를 내미느냐? 너희는 불법의 자녀들이요, 거짓의 씨가 아니냐?

4 Against whom do ye sport yourselves? against whom make ye a wide mouth, and draw out the tongue? are ye not children of transgression, a seed of falsehood,

5 너희는 각종 푸른 나무 아래에서 우상들과 더불어 너희 자신을 불태우고, 바위들의 절벽들 아래에 있는 골짜기들 가운데서 자녀들을 살해하는도다.

5 Enflaming yourselves with idols under every green tree, slaying the children in the valleys under the clifts of the rocks?

6 개울의 매끄러운 돌들 사이에 너의 몫이 있도다. 그것들, 그것들이 너의 할당된 몫이라. 바로 그것들에게 네가 음료 제물을 따르고 음식 제물을 바쳤으니, 내가 이런 일들 가운데 위로를 받겠느냐?

6 Among the smooth stones of the stream is thy portion; they, they are thy lot: even to them hast thou poured a drink offering, thou hast offered a meat offering. Should I receive comfort in these?

7 너는 어느 우뚝 솟고 높은 산 위에 너의 침상을 놓았도다. 너는 희생 제물을 바치고자 심지어 거기까지 올라갔도다.

7 Upon a lofty and high mountain hast thou set thy bed: even thither wentest thou up to offer sacrifice.

8 너는 문들과 문기둥들 뒤에도 너의 기념품을 세웠으니, 네가 나보다는 다른 이에게 너의 몸을 드러냈고 올라갔기 때문이라. 너는 너의 침상을 넓혔고 너를 위해 그들과 언약을 맺었도다. 너는 네가 그것을 보았던 그들의 침상을 사랑하였도다.

8 Behind the doors also and the posts hast thou set up thy remembrance: for thou hast discovered thyself to another than me, and art gone up; thou hast enlarged thy bed, and made thee a covenant with them; thou lovedst their bed where thou sawest it.

9 그리고 너는 향유를 가지고 왕에게 나아갔고 너의 향수들을 늘렸으며 너의 전령들을 멀리 떨어진 데로 보냈고, 너 자신을 천하게 하여 지옥에까지 이르게 하였도다.

9 And thou wentest to the king with ointment, and didst increase thy perfumes, and didst send thy messengers far off, and didst debase thyself even unto hell.

10 너의 길이 아득하므로 네가 지쳤도다. 그럼에도 너는 말하기를, “소망이 없도다.” 하지 아니하였도다. 네가 너의 손의 생명을 발견하였으므로 네가 비통해하지 아니하였도다.

10 Thou art wearied in the greatness of thy way; yet saidst thou not, There is no hope: thou hast found the life of thine hand; therefore thou wast not grieved.

11 그런즉 너는 누가 무섭거나 두려웠기에 네가 거짓말을 하면서 나를 기억하지도 아니하고 그것을 너의 마음에 두지도 아니하였느냐? 내가 실로 옛적부터 나의 침묵을 지켜 오지 아니하였느냐? 그래서 네가 나를 두려워하지 아니하느냐?

11 And of whom hast thou been afraid or feared, that thou hast lied, and hast not remembered me, nor laid it to thy heart? have not I held my peace even of old, and thou fearest me not?

12 내가 너의 의와 너의 행위들을 분명하게 밝히겠노라. 이는 그것들이 네게 유익을 주지 못할 것이기 때문이라.

12 I will declare thy righteousness, and thy works; for they shall not profit thee.

13 ¶ 네가 부르짖는 때에 너의 일행들이 너를 구출하게 하라. 그러나 바람이 그들을 모두 옮겨 버릴 것이요, 헛된 것이 그들을 앗아가리라. 그러나 나에게 자신의 신뢰를 두는 자는 토지를 소유하고 나의 거룩한 산을 상속하리라.

13 ¶ When thou criest, let thy companies deliver thee; but the wind shall carry them all away; vanity shall take them: but he that putteth his trust in me shall possess the land, and shall inherit my holy mountain;

14 그리고 말하기를, “너희는 건설하라. 너희는 건설하여 길을 예비하라. 나의 백성의 길에서 걸려 넘어지게 하는 장애물을 치우라.” 하리라.

14 And shall say, Cast ye up, cast ye up, prepare the way, take up the stumblingblock out of the way of my people.

15 이는 영원에 거주하며 그의 이름이 거룩인 높고 우뚝 솟은 이가 이같이 말하기 때문이라. 나는 높고 거룩한 처소 안에 거하며, 또한 참회하고 겸손한 영을 지닌 자와 함께 거하나니, 겸손한 자들의 영을 소생시키고 참회하는 이들의 마음을 소생시키려 함이라.

15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

16 이는 내가 영원토록 다투지 아니할 것이요, 내가 항상 진노하지도 아니할 것이기 때문이라. 이는 그 영과, 내가 지은 혼들이 내 앞에서 쇠할 것이기 때문이라.

16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.

17 그의 탐욕의 죄악으로 인하여 내가 진노하였고 그를 쳤노라. 내가 나를 숨기고 진노하였으나 그는 자기 마음의 길을 왜곡되이 갔도다.

17 For the iniquity of his covetousness was I wroth, and smote him: I hid me, and was wroth, and he went on frowardly in the way of his heart.

18 내가 그의 길들을 보았으니, 그를 치유하겠노라. 나는 또한 그를 이끌어서 그와 그의 애곡하는 자들에게 위로들을 회복시켜 주겠노라.

18 I have seen his ways, and will heal him: I will lead him also, and restore comforts unto him and to his mourners.

19 나는 입술의 열매를 창조하노니, 화평이로다. 멀리 떨어져 있는 자와 가까이 있는 자에게 화평이로다. 주가 말하노라. 그런즉 내가 그를 치유하겠노라.

19 I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, saith the LORD; and I will heal him.

20 그러나 사악한 자들은 요동하는 바다 같으니, 그것이 쉴 수 없을 때 그것의 물들이 흙탕물과 오물을 밀어 올리는 바다로다.

20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.

21 나의 하나님께서 말씀하시기를, “사악한 자들에게는 화평이 전혀 없도다.” 하시느니라.

21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.
