이사야서 49장

1 오, 섬들아, 나의 말을 새겨들으라. 너희, 먼 곳에 있는 백성들아, 경청하라. 주께서 태에서부터 나를 부르셨도다. 그분께서 나의 어머니의 내부에서부터 나의 이름을 거론하셨도다.

1 Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name.

2 그리고 그분께서 나의 입을 예리한 칼같이 만드셨도다. 그분께서 자신의 손 그늘 안에 나를 숨기셨고, 나를 광이 나는 화살대로 만드셨도다. 그분께서 자신의 화살통 속에 나를 숨기셨도다.

2 And he hath made my mouth like a sharp sword; in the shadow of his hand hath he hid me, and made me a polished shaft; in his quiver hath he hid me;

3 그러면서 나에게 말씀하시기를, “오, 이스라엘아, 너는 나의 종이라. 네 안에서 내가 영화롭게 되겠노라.” 하셨느니라.

3 And said unto me, Thou art my servant, O Israel, in whom I will be glorified.

4 그때 내가 말씀드리기를, “제가 헛되이 수고하였나이다. 제가 아무것도 아닌 것을 위하여 헛되이 저의 힘을 썼나이다. 그럼에도 저의 공의가 확실히 주와 함께 있나니, 저의 행위가 나의 하나님과 함께 있나이다.” 하였더라.

4 Then I said, I have laboured in vain, I have spent my strength for nought, and in vain: yet surely my judgment is with the LORD, and my work with my God.

5 ¶ 그런즉 이제 태에서부터 나를 형성하여 그분의 종이 되게 하시고, 야곱을 그분께로 다시 데려오실 주께서 말씀하시기를, “비록 이스라엘이 모이지 아니할지라도 여전히 나는 주의 눈들에 자랑스러울 것이요, 나의 하나님께서 나의 힘이 되시리라.” 하시는도다.

5 ¶ And now, saith the LORD that formed me from the womb to be his servant, to bring Jacob again to him, Though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the LORD, and my God shall be my strength.

6 그리고 그분께서 이같이 말씀하셨도다. “네가 나의 종이 되어 야곱의 지파들을 일으키고, 이스라엘의 보존된 자들을 회복시키는 것은 손쉬운 일이라. 내가 또한 너를 이방인들에게 빛으로 주겠으니, 네가 땅끝까지 이르러 나의 구원이 되게 하려 함이라.

6 And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

7 사람이 멸시하는 자요, 그 민족이 혐오하는 자요, 치리자들의 종에게 이스라엘의 구속주요, 그의 거룩한 이인 주가 이같이 말하노라. 신실한 주요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이로 인하여 왕들이 보고 일어날 것이요, 통치자들도 경배하리니, 그가 너를 선택하리라.

7 Thus saith the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One, to him whom man despiseth, to him whom the nation abhorreth, to a servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and he shall choose thee.

8 주가 이같이 말하노라. 내가 기꺼이 받아들여질 만한 때에 너의 말을 들었고, 내가 구원의 날에 너를 도왔도다. 또 내가 너를 보존하고 너를 백성의 언약으로 주겠으니, 땅을 확고히 세우게 하려 함이요, 황량한 상속지들을 상속하게 하려 함이요,

8 Thus saith the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard thee, and in a day of salvation have I helped thee: and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;

9 네가 갇힌 자들에게 ‘나아가라.’ 말하게 하려 함이요, 어둠 속에 있는 자들에게 ‘너희 자신을 보이라.’ 하게 하려 함이라. 그들은 길들 가운데서 먹을 것이요, 그들의 초원들은 모든 높은 곳들 가운데 있으리라.

9 That thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places.

10 그들은 배고프지도 목마르지도 아니하리라. 더위와 해도 그들을 치지 못하리라. 이는 그들에게 자비를 베푼 이가 그들을 이끌 것이기 때문이니, 바로 물이 솟는 샘들 옆으로 그가 그들을 안내하리라.

10 They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them.

11 그리고 나는 나의 모든 산들을 길로 만들겠으니, 나의 대로들이 크게 높여지리라.

11 And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.

12 보라, 이들은 먼 곳에서부터 오리라. 그리고 보라, 이들은 북쪽으로부터 오고 서쪽으로부터 오리라. 그리고 이들은 시님 지역으로부터 오리라.”

12 Behold, these shall come from far: and, lo, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

13 ¶ 오, 하늘들아, 노래하라. 오, 땅아, 즐거움으로 충만하라. 그리고 오, 산들아, 노래로 환호를 터뜨리라. 이는 주가 그의 백성을 위로하였으며, 그의 고난받는 자들에게 자비를 베풀 것이기 때문이라.

13 ¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the LORD hath comforted his people, and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

14 그러나 시온은 말하기를 “주께서 나를 저버리셨고, 나의 주께서 나를 잊으셨노라.” 하였도다.

14 But Zion said, The LORD hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.

15 어느 여자가 그녀의 젖먹는 자식을 잊을 수 있겠으며, 그녀가 자신의 태에서 나온 아들에게 연민을 가지지 아니하겠느냐? 진정 그들은 잊을지라도 나는 여전히 너를 잊지 아니하겠노라.

15 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.

16 보라, 내가 너를 나의 손바닥들 위에 새겼도다. 너의 성벽들은 지속적으로 내 앞에 있도다.

16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

17 너의 자녀들은 서두를 것이요, 너를 멸망시킨 자들과 너를 황폐하게 하였던 자들이 너에게서 물러가리라.

17 Thy children shall make haste; thy destroyers and they that made thee waste shall go forth of thee.

18 ¶ 너의 두 눈을 들어 주위를 보라. 이들 모두가 스스로 함께 모여서 너에게로 오는도다. 주가 말하노라. 내가 살아 있음을 두고 맹세하노니, 반드시 너는 장식을 달듯이 그들 모두를 너에게 달 것이요, 신부가 두르듯이 그들을 너에게 두르리라.

18 ¶ Lift up thine eyes round about, and behold: all these gather themselves together, and come to thee. As I live, saith the LORD, thou shalt surely clothe thee with them all, as with an ornament, and bind them on thee, as a bride doeth.

19 이는 너의 불모지와 너의 황량한 처소들과 너의 멸망의 지역이 이제는 심지어 거주자들로 인하여 너무 좁아질 것이요, 너를 삼켜 버렸던 자들은 멀리 떨어진 곳에 있을 것이기 때문이라.

19 For thy waste and thy desolate places, and the land of thy destruction, shall even now be too narrow by reason of the inhabitants, and they that swallowed thee up shall be far away.

20 네가 얻을 그 자녀들, 곧 네가 다른 자녀들을 잃은 후에 얻을 자녀들이 너의 두 귀에 다시 말하기를, “장소가 제게 너무 협소하오니, 제가 거할 수 있는 장소를 제게 주소서.” 하리라.

20 The children which thou shalt have, after thou hast lost the other, shall say again in thine ears, The place is too strait for me: give place to me that I may dwell.

21 그때 너는 마음속에서 말하기를, “나는 내 자녀들을 잃고 처량해졌으며 포로로 이리저리 옮겨 다녔거늘, 누가 나에게 이들을 낳아 주었는가? 또 누가 이들을 키웠는가? 보라, 나는 홀로 남겨졌었도다. 이 자녀들, 그들은 어디에 있었을까?” 하리라.

21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten me these, seeing I have lost my children, and am desolate, a captive, and removing to and fro? and who hath brought up these? Behold, I was left alone; these, where had they been?

22 주 하나님이 이같이 말하노라. 보라, 내가 이방인들을 향하여 나의 손을 들어 올릴 것이요, 백성을 향하여 나의 깃발을 세워 올리겠노라. 그리고 그들이 너의 아들들을 자신들의 팔로 안아서 데려올 것이요, 너의 딸들을 자신들의 어깨들에 메고 오리라.

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.

23 그리고 왕들이 너의 수양아버지들이 될 것이요, 그들의 왕비들은 너의 수양어머니들이 되리라. 그들이 자신들의 얼굴을 땅 쪽으로 향해 아래로 숙여 너에게 절하고, 너의 두 발의 티끌을 죄다 핥으리라. 그리하면 너는 내가 주라는 것을 알게 되리라. 이는 나를 기다리는 자들은 부끄러워하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라.

23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.

24 ¶ 전리품이 막강한 자들에게서 취하여지겠느냐? 또는 합법적인 포로들이 구출되겠느냐?

24 ¶ Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

25 그러나 주가 이같이 말하노라. 막강한 자들의 포로들이 빼앗길 것이요, 공포스러운 자의 전리품도 넘겨지리라. 이는 내가 너와 다투는 자와 다툴 것이요, 내가 너의 자녀들을 구원할 것이기 때문이라.

25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

26 그리고 내가 너를 압제하는 자들을 그들 자신의 살로 먹일 것이요, 그들이 달콤한 포도주에 취하듯이 그들 자신의 피에 취하리라. 그런즉 나, 주가 너의 구원자요, 너의 구속주요, 야곱의 막강한 이라는 것을 모든 육체가 알리라.

26 And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
