이사야서 54장

1 오, 출산하지 못한 너 불임인 자여, 노래하라. 아이로 산고를 치르지 않은 너는 노래로 환호를 터뜨리고 크게 외치라. 이는 고독한 자의 자식들이 혼인한 아내의 자식들보다 더 많기 때문이라. 주가 말하노라.

1 Sing, O barren, thou that didst not bear; break forth into singing, and cry aloud, thou that didst not travail with child: for more are the children of the desolate than the children of the married wife, saith the LORD.

2 너의 천막의 처소를 확장하라. 그리하여 그들이 너의 거처들의 가림막들을 활짝 펼치게 하라. 아끼지 말고 너의 끈들을 길게 하고 너의 나무 말뚝들을 강화하라.

2 Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thine habitations: spare not, lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes;

3 이는 네가 오른편과 왼편으로 터져 나갈 것이기 때문이라. 그런즉 너의 씨가 이방인들을 상속하고, 황량한 도시들을 거주하는 곳으로 만들리라.

3 For thou shalt break forth on the right hand and on the left; and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

4 두려워하지 말라. 이는 네가 부끄러워하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라. 너는 당혹스러워하지도 말라. 이는 네가 수치스러워하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라. 이는 네가 너의 젊은 시절의 수치를 잊을 것이요, 너의 과부살이의 치욕을 더는 기억하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라.

4 Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.

5 이는 너를 만든 이가 너의 남편이기 때문이라. 만군의 주가 그의 이름이니, 너의 구속주요, 이스라엘의 거룩한 이로다. 그는 온 땅의 하나님이라 불리리라.

5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.

6 이는 네가 거절당하였을 때 주가 너를 마치 버림받고 영 안에서 비통해하는 여자와 같이, 젊은 시절의 아내와 같이 불렀기 때문이라. 너의 하나님이 말하노라.

6 For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God.

7 이는 내가 잠시 동안 너를 저버렸기 때문이라. 그러나 내가 크나큰 자비들로 너를 모으겠노라.

7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

8 내가 약간의 진노 가운데서 나의 얼굴을 한순간 너에게서 숨겼도다. 그러나 영원한 친절로 내가 너에게 자비를 베풀겠노라. 주 너의 구속주가 말하노라.

8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer.

9 이는 이것이 나에게 노아의 물들 같기 때문이니, 마치 더 이상 노아의 물들이 땅을 넘어오지 못하리라고 내가 맹세한 것처럼, 내가 너에게 진노하지 아니하며 너를 꾸짖지도 아니하리라고 내가 그렇게 맹세하였기 때문이라.

9 For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.

10 이는 산들이 떠날 것이요, 언덕들이 옮겨질 것이기 때문이라. 그러나 나의 친절은 너에게서 떠나지 아니할 것이요, 나의 화평의 언약도 옮겨지지 아니하리라. 너에게 자비를 베푸는 주가 말하노라.

10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.

11 ¶ 오, 고난받았고 광풍에 요동쳤으며 위로받지 못했던 너는 보라, 내가 수려한 색채들로 너의 돌들을 놓고, 사파이어들로 너의 기초들을 놓겠노라.

11 ¶ O thou afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay thy stones with fair colours, and lay thy foundations with sapphires.

12 그런즉 나는 마노들로 너의 창문들을, 석류석들로 너의 대문들을, 기쁨을 주는 돌들로 네 모든 경계들을 만들겠노라.

12 And I will make thy windows of agates, and thy gates of carbuncles, and all thy borders of pleasant stones.

13 그리고 너의 모든 자녀들이 주께 가르침을 받으리라. 그리하여 너의 자녀들의 화평이 대단히 크리라.

13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

14 너는 의 안에서 확고히 세워지리라. 너는 압제로부터 멀어지리라. 이는 네가 두려워하지 아니할 것이기 때문이라. 또 공포와도 멀어지리니, 이는 그것이 너에게 가까이 오지 못할 것이기 때문이라.

14 In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

15 보라, 그들이 반드시 함께 모일 것이나 나로 인한 것은 아니리라. 너를 대적하여 함께 모이는 자는 누구든지 너로 인하여 망하리라.

15 Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

16 보라, 불속에 있는 숯들을 불어 가며 자신의 작업에 쓸 도구를 꺼내는 대장장이를 내가 창조하였노라. 그리고 멸망시키는 파괴자를 내가 창조하였노라.

16 Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

17 ¶ 너를 대적하여 형성된 어떤 무기도 형통하지 못하리라. 그리고 재판에서 너를 대적하여 일어날 모든 혀마다 네가 정죄하리라. 이것이 주의 종들의 유산이요, 그들의 의는 나에게서 나오는도다. 주가 말하노라.

17 ¶ No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
