<To the chief Musician upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David.>

1 주여, 도우소서. 이는 경건한 사람이 끊어지기 때문이요, 신실한 자들이 사람들의 자녀들 가운데서 사라지기 때문이니이다.

1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

2 그들 모두가 저마다 자기 이웃과 함께 헛된 것을 말하나이다. 그들은 아첨하는 입술로, 또 이중적인 마음으로 말하나이다.

2 They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

3 주께서 아첨하는 모든 입술과, 교만한 것들을 이야기하는 혀를 끊어 버리시리이다.

3 The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

4 그들이 말하기를, “우리의 혀로 우리가 승리하겠노라. 우리의 입술은 우리의 소유로다. 우리를 다스리는 주가 누구냐?” 하리라.

4 Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

5 주께서 말씀하시기를, “가난한 자들이 받는 압제로 인하여, 빈곤한 자들의 한숨으로 인하여 내가 일어나겠노라. 내가 그를 향해 우쭐대는 자로부터 그를 따로 두어 안전하게 세우겠노라.” 하셨느니라.

5 For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

6 주의 말씀들은 순수한 말씀들이라. 흙 도가니 안에서 정련되어 일곱 번 정화된 은 같도다.

6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

7 오, 주여, 당신께서 그것들을 지키시리니, 당신께서 그것들을 이 세대로부터 영원토록 보존하시리이다.

7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

8 가장 비열한 사람들이 크게 높여질 때 사악한 자들이 사면에서 활보하는도다.

8 The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
