1 바빌론 강들의 기슭에서 우리가 거기에 주저앉았으니, 우리가 시온을 기억하였을 때 진정 우리는 울었도다.

1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.

2 우리는 그곳의 한가운데 있는 버드나무들 위에 우리의 하프들을 걸었도다.

2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.

3 이는 우리를 포로로 잡아간 자들이 거기서 우리에게 노래를 요구하였기 때문이라. 그런즉 우리를 피폐하게 한 자들이 우리에게 희락을 요구하며 말하기를, “우리에게 시온의 노래들 중 하나를 노래하라.” 하였도다.

3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.

4 어떻게 우리가 타국 지역에서 주의 노래를 부르리오?

4 How shall we sing the LORD'S song in a strange land?

5 오, 예루살렘아, 만일 내가 너를 잊거든, 나의 오른손이 그녀의 기교를 잊어버리게 하라.

5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6 만일 내가 너를 기억하지 아니하거든, 혹 내가 예루살렘을 나의 최고의 즐거움보다 더 좋아하지 아니하거든 나의 혀가 나의 입천장에 달라붙게 하라.

6 If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

7 오, 주여, 예루살렘의 날에 에돔 후손들을 기억하소서. 그들이 말하기를, “그것을 없애라. 그것을 없애라. 그것의 기초까지도 없애라.” 하였나이다.

7 Remember, O LORD, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, Rase it, rase it, even to the foundation thereof.

8 오, 멸망받게 될 바빌론의 딸아, 네가 우리에게 대우했던 대로 너에게 보응하는 자는 행복하리라.

8 O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us.

9 너의 어린것들을 들어서 돌들에 대고 내려치는 자는 행복하리라.

9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
