시편 40편

<악장에게, 다윗의 시편>

<To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.>

1 내가 인내하며 주를 기다렸노라. 그러자 그분께서 나에게 귀를 기울이시어 나의 부르짖음을 들으셨도다.

1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 또한 그분께서 나를 끔찍한 구렁과 진흙 수렁에서 건져 올리셨으며, 나의 두 발을 반석 위에 세우셨고 나의 행보들을 확고히 하셨도다.

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

3 그리고 그분께서 나의 입안에 새 노래를 두셨으니, 바로 우리 하나님께 드리는 찬송이로다. 많은 이들이 그것을 보고 두려워할 것이요, 주를 신뢰하리라.

3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

4 주를 자신이 신뢰할 분으로 삼고, 교만한 자들이나 거짓말들로 엇나가는 자들을 존중하지 아니하는 사람은 복되도다.

4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.

5 오, 주 나의 하나님이여, 당신께서 행하신 당신의 경이로운 역사들과, 우리를 향하신 당신의 생각들이 많사오니, 그것들이 당신께 정연하게 헤아려질 수 없나이다. 설령 제가 그것들에 관하여 선언하고 말하려 한다 해도 그것들은 세어질 수 있는 것보다 더 많나이다.

5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

6 당신께서는 희생 제물과 제물을 바라지 않으셨나이다. 당신께서 저의 두 귀를 열어 주셨나이다. 당신께서는 번제물과 죄 제물을 요구하지 않으셨나이다.

6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.

7 그때 제가 이같이 말씀드렸나이다. “보소서, 제가 오나이다. 저에 관한 것이 그 책의 두루마리 안에 기록되어 있으니,

7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,

8 오, 나의 하나님이여, 제가 당신의 뜻을 행하기를 크게 즐거워하나이다. 진정 당신의 법은 저의 마음속에 있나이다.

8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

9 제가 많은 수의 회중 가운데서 의를 선포하였나이다. 오, 주여, 보소서, 당신께서 아시오니 제가 저의 입술을 억제하지 아니하였나이다.

9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.

10 저는 당신의 의를 제 마음속에 숨기지 않았나이다. 저는 당신의 신실하심과 당신의 구원을 선언해 왔나이다. 저는 수많은 회중에게 당신의 인애하심과 당신의 진리를 감추지 않았나이다.

10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

11 오, 주여, 당신께서 당신의 온화한 자비들을 저에게서 거두지 마소서. 당신의 인애하심과 당신의 진리가 지속적으로 저를 보존하게 하소서.

11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 이는 무수한 해악들이 저의 주위를 둘러쌌기 때문이니이다. 저의 죄악들이 저를 붙들었기에 제가 올려다볼 수 없나이다. 그것들이 저의 머리털들보다 더 많나이다. 그러므로 저의 마음이 저를 실망시키나이다.

12 For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of mine head: therefore my heart faileth me.

13 오, 주여, 저를 구출하기를 기뻐하소서. 오, 주여, 서둘러 저를 도우소서.

13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.

14 저의 혼을 멸망시키려고 그것을 찾아다니는 자들이 부끄럽고 당혹스럽게 하소서. 저에게 해악이 임하기를 소원하는 자들이 뒤로 끌려가 수치를 당하게 하소서.

14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.

15 저에게 ‘아하, 아하.’ 하고 말하는 자들은 자기들 수치의 보응으로 황폐하게 하소서.

15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say unto me, Aha, aha.

16 당신을 찾는 모든 자들은 크게 기뻐하고 당신을 반기게 하소서. 당신의 구원을 사랑하는 그런 자들은 지속적으로 말하기를, ‘주께서 드높여지시기를 바라나이다.’ 하게 하소서.

16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.

17 그러나 저는 가난하고 빈곤하나이다. 그럼에도 주께서 저를 생각하시나이다. 당신께서는 나의 도움이시요, 나의 구출자시니이다. 오, 나의 하나님이여, 지체하지 마소서.”

17 But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.
