시편 8편
<깃팃에 맞추어 악장에게, 다윗의 시편>
<To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm of David.>
1 오, 주 우리 주여, 당신의 이름이 온 땅에 얼마나 탁월하신지요! 당신께서 당신의 영광을 하늘들 위에 세우셨나이다.
1 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 당신께서 당신의 원수들로 인하여 아기들과 젖먹이들의 입에서 힘이 나오도록 정하셨나니, 친히 원수와 복수하는 자를 잠잠하게 하려 하심이니이다.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 당신의 손가락들의 작품인 당신의 하늘들과 당신께서 정해 놓으신 달과 별들을 제가 숙고할 때면, 이러한 생각이 드나이다.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 사람이 무엇이기에 당신께서 그를 유념하시나이까? 또 사람의 아들이 무엇이기에 당신께서 그를 찾아오시나이까?
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 이는 당신께서 그를 천사들보다 조금 낮게 만드셨고 그에게 영광과 존귀로 왕관을 씌우셨기 때문이니이다.
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 당신께서 그에게 당신의 두 손의 작품들을 지배하게 하셨나이다. 당신께서 모든 것들을 그의 두 발 아래 놓으셨사오니,
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 진정 모든 양들과 소들과 들판의 짐승들과
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 공중의 날짐승과 바다의 고기와 바다들의 행로들을 지나다니는 것은 무엇이나 다스리게 하셨나이다.
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 오, 주 우리 주여, 당신의 이름이 온 땅에 얼마나 탁월하신지요!
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!
